Nasim Ashraf, PCB chairman really has a big heart. If he can free Akhtar and Asif out of doping case, although they were tested positive, then this Younis is case is very minor case. Why rediff is making news of it?

Sachin was the captain of the team (twice) when most of the players were not even playing test cricket. He gave it up himself and the reasons are probably the same as Younis'. Younis knows that team failures would end his cricketing career and hence he refused. If he really did not want the captaincy then why did he accept being vice captain?

Don't talk like an ass. Sachin has been captain of India twice. And he also gave up captaincy on his own. Don't you remember this?

I fully agree with you friend,if u see the records sachin played only for himself rather than playing for the country, and Gavaskar I even dont like to talk about him.We need players like kapil dev,who always played for the country and records followed them

Well said Rehman Bhai. He had always the hunger for captaincy and the stupid Gavaskar was backing him.He just left his captaincy because of outside pressures and non - co-operation movement within the team. All the people know that this guy only plays for records and not for the country.

True Venkat he plays for the sake of records. we could very well make it out by the way he labored to his hard fought century against the great bowling attack of bangladesh on one of the most difficult pitches to bat on :-)

For those people who have been saying bad things about Kapil,Gavaskar,Sachin or anyone else...first ask one self what have i achieved as compared to them ...if you have achieved something then u have the right to comment....Just see at the good qualities of that person and try following those good qualities for the betterment of oneself...

Good point, Mr.Abhijit. It is very easy to sit in the arm chair and criticize others.Maybe some people are jealous of Sachin, Gavaskar and Kapil Dev because they have probably achieved nothing in life compared to these cricketers. Coming to Younis, he did not refuse the captaincy because he was team man, he refused because he was afraid of failure and knows that couple of failures for the team would end his cricketing career. For all you folks, Sachin gave up captaincy in 1999 may be because of lack of cooperation from others, but the fact remains that he did give up the same.If he really wanted the captaincy he does not have to play the games, he could have got it after Ganguly was sacked if he wanted to.
