Why did Indian Cricket hit bottom
by Crick fan on Jun 05, 2007 10:33 AM

The sorry state of Indian Cricket many thinkers put to two factors. They had huge huge expectations from these two factors and thought with this combination the were one of the forerunners of WC 2007.
These Factors are
1 Presence of a Mega Coach. -- Greg Chappel
2 Presence of a Mega Star . -- Sachin Tendulkar

Greg did too many experiments with the batting order and at the end realised that he was left with no batsmen in the Team. He had too much confidence on Irfan's batting, but due to his bowling form could not even use him as batsman. His trial policy was with good intent, but may be he triesd wrong guys. May be Indian team got too defensive during the world cup.

The mere presence of Sachin should have been motivating for the Team, that is the kind of player he was. But reasons best known to him he hit bad form at the world cup. The guys presence was not a plus or else it could have added to different results. You will find Sachin developing soo many critics now even after he had good Bangladesh series. This is the main reason. May Sachin needs extra psycological support to do deliver. He his softened by injuries and may also my critcism.

The discussion board is about Sachin only. No one is discussing about any other player. It seems that he is the only player in the team worth discussing and others are not even worth mentioning.

Hey guys, leave them alone. These are a bunch of jokers. Criticising Sachin amounts to being unpatriotic!!! I mean, some buffoons think that way. It is useless to give them any more explanations. They are prepared to do anythig to defend their IDOL(who is infact IDLE). In the MESSAGE box they write useless biographies. Later on some booklets also might appear. So please leave them alone and let them run their foolish show!

Dear Vilas
On September 1, 1996 in Rieti, Italy, Komen ran a spectacular world record time of 7:20.67 in the 3000 metres.

Atleast run 3000 metres in 15 minutes and then write about Sachin.....

Hey guys, I have no idea why u guys waste time talking about a player who has done so well for the team for so long.

It seems like all of you seeing him as an enemy or something, and comment about him, he is one of your brother guy, he came from your country, you should be proud of him rather than commenting on him.

I agree, that he is being slow and he is not winning enough matches lately, but please never say that he never won came for India. Please don't say that there are only 4 instances of he is winning game for India. You think he got millions of fans just because he played 4 good innings.

Guys he is like a golden star born in India, please don't write about him, even though he is going through a bad phase. First of all, i am not an Indian, I am a srilankan and I am a big fan of Sahcin. Me too i am so disappointed about his latest performance. What can he do, do you think he doesn't want to play an innings like that everyday. He does want to play but there are so many factors against him, fans like you have lots of expect ions on him secondly, he has had so many injuries some of them are career threatening, think about a body with so many operations along the shoulder, and he is 33 and think about how would a body will react. Think about me or you have a small injuries on a leg or hand, then we have a surgery, do you think we can play the same way again, no guys.

continued .. part2

You might think i am so emotional and you guys have the right to comment on anything, yes you do, but this is not a comment guys, you guys killing him little by little, what he need is a support. There are so many things going wrong on the world, there were so many players doing wrong thing in the world, but you all targeting our great sachin. I agree it is a great fun to criticize a super star but are you guys really think about what you guys are doing, just you guys are putting yourself down, your country down, even the indian mother (Barath Maatha) would definely cry hearing all your comments about Sachin, I am crying right now, while writing this, even though i am not part of your country. Please don't let me say that he born in the wrong country, please leave him alone. Would you comment on your own mother or a brother like that.
Finally, who am i to stop you guys, I am really sorry if i have said anything wrong, I just felt like wanted to write this, but if you guys feel it is wrong, please keep doing. But one day some else will do that to you and you will realize how painful it is. Please remember, Sachin has done nothing wrong for you guys. You all say that he has only 4 match winning innings, but look all his world cup records guys, except the 2007, he has played many much winning knocks than anyone else.

1992- He won 2 man of the match awards, in the 2 winning games, one against the 1992 w.c.c Pakistan.

1996. He must have been the real Man of the searies. He was done everything he could have poosbly done to bring the team to semifinals, even in the semi final he played a much winning kind of knock, he made 65 and but non of the others clicked, do you only comment about the innings on came won guys, not really guys, then why do they give a man of the match award to player from loosing team, because he played much better than everybody else from the both team, but it is the luck and group 11 that make the team win. If you look at sachin's career he has many man of th match awards in loosing games, they are all match winning knocks in my book or any one of the great cricket knowldger's book.
Srilanka - 137 - team lost because of the bowlers.
Australia- 90 - team lost because no one else to finish the game.
Westindies - 82 - Game won. Man of the Match

Man we are not agaainst him. Its just that we are momentrally critisizing his attitude. He remains a match winner. Did'nt he win us series against Bangladesh. He was man of the series. there.

leave him alone part4 -- read from part 1-5
by nathan on Jun 02, 2007 12:58 AM  | Hide replies

1999 - He lost his dad during the world cup, but he still performed average. It is an emotional period so we can say much about that season.

2003 - Again, he was the super star no doubt about that, he was man of the series rightly so, but please don't talk about the final, Everyone knows it is impossible to chase 359, the game was lost on first half.
1- 50 Vs England... Good Knock
2- 98 Vs Pakistan...One of the best innings.
3- 97 vs Srilanka, One of the best teams on the tournament, negotiated Murali well.
4. 82 Vs Kenya in the semifinals.

2007, well guys, it is a misery what happened in 2007, please don't blame him for the loss. I would say India made a big risk by changing the openers 3 weeks before the tournament, we lost both Srilanka and Bangladesh games because of the openers. We lost momentum early on, we had 23/2 in 10 overs vs Bangladesh, in my book thats a loosing performance because the pressure will double and triple when you play against a lower level country, like what happened to Bangladesh vs Ireland.

Not only worldcups man, there are somany cames that he played well. He is a human he can't score hundread or win the match for india all the time. Even in test, how many games that he has played exceptionaly, 2 hundreads on his first toor in australia including 1 on the bouncy Perth, 179, 158, 164 3 test hundreds in india to beat the great aussies, i know these are pasts but some examples of match winning knocks.

Please look at him as human beeing, You guys made him as a star, he didnt want u guys calling him star, now you guys are calling him, looser, wow. What a world? Please stop doing this my brothers. you don't critizise you mother, you dont compare your mother with somebody else's mother, you dont know what's their problems, so please feel proud about our mother. Think about how painful it is when your father says that you are useless, or thinik about your son calls your useless, it is easy to say but hard to take it guys.

Please excuse me for my speeling and grammer. I am great lover of circket, great lover or sachin and great lover or humanity.

I dont know if its just a concident or fate. This man is the best batsman in the universe, but we are going to win the next world cup without him involved. And we have lost soo many times with him.

Sachin and retirement
by on Jun 01, 2007 07:40 PM

Every top class player can play for 15 years and after that he should think of retirement as his body won't cooperate even though the the mind is willing. That is why most players retire atleast from onedayers as this form of cricket needs quick reflexes and agility. Sachin should understand that though he is only 33, he started playing international cricket at the age of 17. It is almost 18 years and all these years of cricket has taken its toll on his body. It is wise for him to retire from oneday cricket. He should see how he performs in the coming season in test cricket and decide accordingly when to retire from all forms of cric ket. He has served the country well and should leave in glory.

Hi all,

I%u2019am huge fan of Sachin in 1992 to 1999. I use to bunk my school and watch his game but all these days his playing like a junk. And I do believe this is time to go out from team. This will give opportunity for the young stars and I do believe this is right time to make some changes in team which helps us to build the nice team for next world cup. I did not understood why Sachin is still wants to play. Well he himself knows that there are batter player in world. What is the use of his playing for himself in fact not for country?
