i think the question here was best batsman at this point of time & not about captaincy... in that way, dravid is definitely better than sachin under current form & recent performances. infact captaincy wise also dravid is better than sachin, atleast he has the guts to fight out his deficiencies as captain, he is not hiding away from responsibility)
India won this test match in style. Jaffer - Karthick gave hopes for a future reliable opening pair. Rahul Dravid also batted with command. Sachin did score centuries, but did not look like the genius we were used to see, 5 years ago. Zaheer as usual was On and Off. I not sure whether you can call him a reliable player.
Fielders like Kaif are needed badly.
I hope they improve their performances in the oncoming England series.

The baility of Tendulkar, Ganguly, Zaheer and others are questionable in One-Dayers where more fresh and young cricketers are required, remember Dinesh Karthik didn't find a place in the final eleven in the WC, and we lost sharp single oppertunities when the ball was doing its bit in the match against Bangladesh in WC this is where the Australian are sooooo good at they run singles when the bowling is very good in order to rotate the strike and maintain the runrate
Winning against minnows Bangladesh is no achievment. Indian players would prove their capabilites only if India could defeat teams like Australia and South Africa in their own playgrounds.

abey sheety, chup. Bakwas math bolnae ka. The win is not by 5 wkts or 100 runs. It is an innings and 239 runs. What the *u*k do you expect?

One shouldnot forget this team only stopped India for Super8. This is good revenge, Congrats Team India.
