I really wonder, when sachin and sourav fans discuss for hours who did better in 1995, 2000, 2003. This is the problem with u guys. We always look into past and really doesn't care abt future. If u r talking abt past, how come ypu forgotten, the recent news @sting operations where board members claimed abt politics of sachin and sourav. These guys wanted to be caption and they really didn't cooperated with dravid. Those who arte praising the duo for yesterday's innings,pls understand. There was no choice left for the duo. They had to play and perform. Especially in one days, when newcomers did well, there was a tough competition for test series, It was do or die situation for the duo. Atleas, we have one benefit from world cup debacle, the so called stars are now feeling heat. As long as they feel insecure,they will try to perform. Ultimately, thats important for Indian cricket
It was inevitable that Sachin and Sourav had to display their real talent or else they were in a tight leash of loosing their spots in test cricket and also getting axed on their ads. This innings will prove them best for atleast 5 test matches guaranteed in the comming series.

Whether it is India's test match victories against Australia in Inidia or Australia, against Pakistan in Pakistan. Dravid was also the person who has saved more test matches for India than any other batsman in the team during the last six seven years. So when these players show admirable team spirit, why do the fans have to become envious and jealous of players and behave like stupid fools. Can't we praise both Dravid and Ganguly as a team or is it that Indians can never be united in anything and will always be divided and fighting among themselves?
hey lets accept the fact that he is a genuine opener. why not use him as he is fantastic form as opener . remember justin langer himself was a keeper and so is abraham devilliers now.
Mr Friends,heard lots of people relentlessly pointing guns at Saurav, ganguly and yuvraj are big stars not only against bangladesh but they have been performing against everyone and I am sure put them against aussies they wud still perform, just to remind, ganguly top batting charts against south africa, west indies, sri lanka and then wolrd cup, now in bangla also he is top scorer as of now, so guess tat shud answer you and tell you the kind f hypocrites you are to bias here in such forums and criticise Dada... who is a real patriotic player.. he has done so much for team India when he was captain..
can you list me three big achievements dravid has as a captain, guess it would be difficult for you to find even one.. maybe win on windies in windies being only one, the testseries win ! ! !

It does not matter! Is Sourav playing to be a top scorer or to win matches for India? He must learn to be a TEAM PLAYER first! I am not sure whether Chappel did any good to Indian Cricket, but one thing i for sure, he has definetely helped SG get his cricketing mind back!
He needs to produce consistently! Do not glorify him out of context!

Thats right! In fact Sourav Ganguly fans praising SG out of context irritates others! In fact it is the people from Bengal who had started adoring him (of course with backing from Jaggu Dada!) creating a feeling of regional attitude!
In fact Dravid has been a cool customer and has a matured shoulder on his head! He has done everything for the team - adopting to ODI style by increasing strike rate, keeping wickets (to accomodate an extra batsman and of course that was under SG's captaincy) and of course open in tests too!
On the contrary Ganguly complains of pitches and no gras in it (Nagpur), yells at Indian curators and dictates terms and dominates with arogance!
Dravid has always felt that a player has to play in the pitches provided to the playes! Thats where the challnge lies! Ganguly fails to accpet this fact!

Sourav also has faked fitness many times! He goes out of the field citing injury reasons at will! He was also given punishment by ICC more than Dravid!
On the contrary Dravid had minimum injuries and is one of the fittest indian cricketers!
It is clas that matters! Dravid is a treat to watch when in full flow and he has a unique style of copy book cricket! He is also politically corect most of the time!

Those who say Dravid is not a great captain must wait till his tenure ends! Once he has captained in the same number of ODIs and TESTS as Ganguly, it will be clear!
In fact it is true that CHAPPEL did try to bring in a new spirit, but I guess it is imposssible for INDIANS to adoptr OZ type of grooming simply becuase of stardom and work ethics!
However Dravid has done everything for the team, leading from the front! He may not be as popular as Ganguly must he will go down in the history as one of the greatest Indian Captains!

Unfortunately enough he has not been in full flow off late, not able to bear the pressure of captaining a failing side and lift the morale, ironical ENOUGH MAN!!!! Dada was punished for slower over rate most times, or for his passionate outbursts, which was coz he was a aggressive leader and he knew he was making men in blue aggressive with that, dravid is spineless at captaincy!! he doesnt deserve single word of praise for any thing as a captain in last couple of yrs!!!

everone contributed, not just dravid, and they must contribute, beiang ateam game, at that level, they are there to perform, so dravid has to keep his place to perform, why you forget, that even saurav's record is impeccable in his own captaincy whether as a captainor batsman, only one season, the last one went wrong for him, I dont agree dada shud give credit to chappel... for anything, he is a true fighter and this he has always displayed.... with GUSTO!!!

doesnt matter muneer if i m from bengal or orissa or kanyakumari, wat matters is I am an Indian and I have seen how Saurav brought a team entangled in match fixing shackles to a world cup finalist team, it was a true champion side and then I saw the same team india getting rotten day in and day out in hands of incapable minds like Dravid and chappell, they did nothing right, just made controversies, we all know, but still people dont accept that rahul is a novice as a captain, he is not captaincy material, yes, he has played and done lots for india as batsman and thats where he specialises and not in leading the side. Being an Indian it hurts that this man has screwe d up a champion side into a minnow side which hardly wins now!!

Just clarifying--
1. It was under Rahul's captaincy that India win a test match in SA.
-- looks like you forgot the humiliation just before that in ODI's in south africa where same team minus under Rahul minus saurav had failed to bat even 40 overs in any of the matches and loss margin and humiliation actually increased with every match. They failed to explain[ duo of dravid and chappel] then Dada walked in and showed them how to bat and lifted their morale in procheftstroom making 83, even there everyone except him and pathan failed miserably... so you shud know now where the credit shud go for the win on SA in Jo'berg !!!!
2 AFter 35 years, India won a series overseas by beating WI.

Do not be sarcastic! Rahul Dravid and Sourav are two different individuals having distinct styles! Do not compare apples and mangoes! By the way even legendary Lara could not do much in Super 8 stage alone!
Mind you it is a game of 11 proactive players and not individuals! Let us learn to play cricket like Austrlains as a TEAM and not with INDIVIDUAL STARS!
Colleclively we fail simply becuase everyone backs individual playes depending on region, state, caste and a lot of other criteria that have no cricketing logic!

Well said! Sourav Ganguly no doubt is a good player, provided he restircts himself to ONFILED leadership and stops OFFFIELD busines and domination under the egies of Jaggu Dada camp! Now that Jaggu is replaced by Sharad Pawar camp SG ka kuch chalne wala naheen!
He must impress Sachin so that he can get favours from Sharad Pawar via Sachin! Hard reality though!

people like you give credit to sachin when saurav captaincy really mattered and he gave india the 'now or never' slogan and everyone contributed to the win streak from sachin, sehwag and nehra, not sachin alone.
Well even at that, you yourslef are acknowledging that under dada sachin always performed, why??? did you think, coz dada commanded respect from seniors as well as juniors, he knew hot to handle men!!! which and where rahul ironically fails miserably, thats why he always asks for a young team... but this team cannot win without the right mix and right captain ! !
