No need to compete with BCCI yet. Let them control the international side, the way national olympic committees do. They did not do a good enough job on domestic cricket. There is an opportunity for ICL to address those short comings.

Some examples are:
1. Ranji and Duleep trophies are designed to prepare domestic players for test cricket. There is no good limited-overs tournaments. ICL can provide that.
2. Regional selection process is not working well. If there is a good wicket keeper in Karnataka that cannot get in, but there is an opening in Delhi, he should be able to play. ICL can do that similar to NBA
3. Current stats really dont indicate enough details about a cricketer's behaviour. When you are using them to select national team, you need more details. Those can be developed in limited-over context.
Good Luck ICL.
