Pick only those players who have no modelling or Advertising contracts signed! Then you'll see the real performance!

We should not target player because they are modeling or something else. I am sure if any one will be in the place of these cricters he/she will do same.
If you want to target target there performance
(good or bad), selection process and the money that CCB puts in there pocket, Condition of cricket grounds in our country etc..,

Let a man play cricket at 50 If he can bowl and field fit
by Senthil Kumar on May 17, 2007 11:12 AM  | Hide replies

I liked Mutthiah Muralitharan's attitude ..

Being fit should be the criterion instead
of age ..

Some people get old at 30,
but some other don't get old at 45 ..

It is very true ..
Sachin and Sehwag look like 45 ..
Muralitharan looks like 25 at heart ..

I think some of 35 keep their legacy in their mind, they are afraid that whether they don't be able to play as good as their earlier years.

A person who is young at heart, don't dwell too much in the past and his past glory ..

we should go with best bowleres..
by veerapuram dharan on May 17, 2007 09:14 AM  | Hide replies

given the humid conditions in bangla, never matter we have more good spinners than fast bowlers, we should go with 5 batsmen and 5 bowlers, with 3 spinners that includes kumbs, piyush and ramesh with munaf and VRV doing the fast bowling..my team would be:

1. Gambhir
2. Jaffer
3. Drabs
4. Sachin
5. lax/dinesh
6. dhons
7. kumbs
8. piyush
9. ramesh
10. vrv
11. munaf

Murali Karthik has been given so many chances but never lived upto the expectations of being a match winner. He is no good in one dayers and always proved very expensive, perhaps he could never adjust his bowling to suit one dayers. Perhaps in tests he could be given one more chance. I am afraid he will go Sunil Joshi way who too showed so much promise but never performed well at international level

Makhan Seru
On Chawala
by Makhan Seru on May 17, 2007 12:03 AM

I have been watching of late that our team is not playing up to mark? It is sad but it is a fact. We have to accept it. Indian team of the present in that way and is not different from teams of the past. It is very sad but it is the realistic situation. We have to accept this situation if we choose to live in real world. By nature, it is sad for us to accept this gap: between what our team really is and what we perceive their potential is.

The press over blows our expectation (with a motive of selling their papers) that causes such a huge let down when the reality presents itself to us. Indian cricket is on way to other sports: Field Hockey, Football etc. in spite of lots of potential and tons of hope.

But to let these guys to play in temperatures of over 38 is a killer in itself!!!! Why do we make them to play in these unhealthy conditions? Board must be making lots money, what happens to this money is for birds to know!

Also let the players & selectors decide when they are done and retire. Our team's performance is mediocre at best, so what the heck!

Yes, the players make lot of money during their playing days, but we the fans should be thankful for the wonderful moments that they give us though occasionally & sparingly.

Also let us be polite while writing, sometimes our language does not befit the education level most of the writers have. We beat the standards that might have existed in Kublai Khan's court!

As regards Chawala, give him more chances to make himself a killer bowler (if he has that potential). Have some patience and let us not make him a saint or devil too early. Dropping of any player who does not perform should be done as a part of a good strategy. Let the speaker of our Parliament do his job where he is messing up things with gusto than interfere in the matters of sports. Politicians are getting in and messing up everything they lay hands on.

Chappell%u2019s era is forgetful one; India lost a lot of money, lot of time and tons of pride. We are down badly. First we should accept that we are playing poorly and not up to our potential. We need to remove politicians from the helm, they have messed up the country and they are bound to ruin our sports.

Regards and good luck for the year 2007.
