Greg Chappell for Indian cricket
by Ghosh on May 08, 2007 09:07 PM  | Hide replies

Dear All
I feel that if Indian cricket cannot make use of Greg Chappell, the best player and also a qualified coach, then even if Donald Bradman comes and takes up the coaching job would not work out because the shameless fellows sitting in BCCI and as selectors would try to interfere in his way of working.
Whether we bring Chappell or Viv Richards or Botham or any former great, things will not work out since our shameless Sachin, Saurav and Rahul will have their say.
Do we remember who was the coach for the Indian team in 1983?
I think very few would know that.
And let me tell you I do not know.
So it is not the coach, it is the Kapil Dev attitude that won us the WC 1983.
Is any body there in the side now
We talk of Sachin. That shameless and useless fellow is occupying a position and is not helping the cause.
Rahul does not know how to captain the side.
Saurav any way is useless. He cannot bat, nor can he field. All three useless cricketers are good for nothing in Indian cricket
Let somebody tell them that their days are over and they should pack up their bags.

@GHOSH,

You do realise that Greg Chappel is not regarded highly as a coach in Australia itself, right ?
He was the coach for best aussie county team for years and they never ever won the county championships, or so I read.

Why Mathew Maynnard is being offered the post?Simply because of Indian team new manager Ravi Shastri as Shastri and Maynnard played long time together for the english county Glomargan. It is pity that after the pathetic experience of Greg Chappel we still running after foreign players, even for the managment of our accadimies. When we will come out from the hysteria of 'gouri chamdi'.

I think Ravi Shastri definitely wants to ruin the Indian cricket.
He was shameless when he played and he is still shameless when he is commentating and also as a manager.
And what good record Mr. Ravi is having with Glamorgan?
Or for that matter India?
One match winning knock in World series in 1985 does not make you a great player I suppose.
NCA will also produce thousands of Shastries as long as he is associated with it.
Let us tell Mr Ravi that he was a worthless and useless cricketer in his playing days and he should not forget that.
He should not say things like discipline when he himself was not when on tour.

Dear Monu Rajan
I feel any Indian player will work good enough for the national team. But the only thing is that shameless fellows like Sachin, Saurav and Rahul should be out of the side and should not interfere.
Rahul as a player may be good but he is a hypocrite. A perfect hypocrite. He always wants to have a good boy image and never would utter a word when it is really required.
Otherwise, if he really felt that senior players were not cooperating in WC 2007, he should have come up saying the same in TV.
Why didn't he say that?
Rahul is another shameless fellow who always wants to remain captain even when he is not performing.

This is true .. when the coach resigns the other down the hierarchy resigns well. Its like a new coach getting his own people in the group as he will be uncomfortable to cope up with and other reason is that the other will not be able to find other fault that coach is having so it will be closed gaurded secret . The same thing also happens in the corporate culture, when a new manager joins he brings his team also along with him/her . Here it involves a lot of cost which the board also should see as the people who are coming new has higeher pay to be paid. and it should also mathch the result they give.
