Get Over it!!

That's rich. Every country seems to have some excuse for not winning, not only Sri Lankans. But I believe Aussie had a number of reasons for why they did not win the 1996 Cricket World Cup and whenever a country looses there's always cries of chucking this tampering that....If you really look closely there are many players from all countries which whenever some one fancies can accuse them of chucking. Just get over it. And btw where was India in the World Cup anyway?????

cheater ? Yes. Bad Player : NO
by MANU VN on May 16, 2007 04:09 AM

He did cheat no matter what anyone says, but I would like some of our Indian players to go out there and score 149 against sri-lanka using a squash ball. Then I'd agree that AUS won because of the squash ball!!! Ridiculous excuse! They won cause they worked hard. People need to begin to accept that.

All idiots hu r supporting gilli, just open ur junk windows and think wt was the ned to use the squash ball,he has given a start to do stupid things,if a batsman is using his right shoulder a lot,and is his drawback, then wt should he do? to put an iron ball on the left shoulder?gilli used the ball knowingly to stop his shortcoming, but the question is y the hell he cant adjust with wt cricket equipments r ?is he not satisfied with gloves, bat grips?

He has cheated with cricket, otherwise hang and put things, and cricket will become circus

Squash ball
by Renuchandran on May 10, 2007 06:32 AM  | Hide replies

I cannot imagine how he found it helpful. I feel it would be extremely inconvenient to bat like that. What ever little cricket I have played, I was more comfortable with more close contact with the handle. Let other try this and score big, then we will have something to talk about.

I am aboslutely in agreement with Renu. It is indeed very difficult to hold a bat with some object in the gloves.Having played cricket at considerable level, I feel it is ridiculous to degrade a player of the capability of Gilchrist for foul play. He has been devstating batsman and did prove this many times. Cricketer like him are born rarely. He is player who can fit into any side of any era.it is dubious to question his ability as every team in World has faced his onslaught when ever played against him. It is not grip or some item helps him to score but his technique, reflexes and ability to sight the ball early which are strenghts of Great Gilly.

Aaj Tak
by alhad sathe on May 09, 2007 05:41 PM

Forget about Gilchrist. Aaj Tak is exposing our so called cricket tigers and Greg Chappel on their news channel? Why there is no news on Rediff? There was a fight between Srishant and Zaheer Khan. Sachin and Sourav were not in talking terms with Greg and were not coperating with Dravid. Why there is no news on rediff?

You are a piece of work. A pathetic comment. Gilchrist walks a lot before he is given out. To suggest that he has taken a banned drug is in very poor taste. I guess it is typical of a pathetic lot of Indian fans who speak ill of others when they are crying sour grapes for their team' inept performance. Wash your mouth out.

AHA -the secret is out
by Mat on May 09, 2007 02:42 PM  | Hide replies

Hope that our cricketers are taking notice of this revelation and copying him.!!
Srilankans should be asked to bat the way Gilchrist batted using his new technique for better grip. If they dont succeed, they should be banned.Sour grapes!!!
