NEW INDIAN TEAM - NO GOOD!!!
by bhaarath ganesh on May 08, 2007 01:43 PM

Personally, I think India ain't neva gonna do no good with this bunch of new playas. I'm excited to see what Manoj Tiwari and Piyush Chawla can do, but pretty much the rest of the team let alone (Dhoni, Zaheer, Sreesanth & Munaf Patel) has got any talent at all to match the gravity that frontline teams have.

well, I knw this is a joke but if I was given a chance to pickup a team, I would pick persons who aren't intimidated about "ANY THING" - I mean anything.. Cricket isnt bloodsport. However, if there exists a cricketer who doesnt give a damn about breakin his arms when he fields or being hit on the head while attemptin to play a bouncer, who gives his gusto not a 98 percent, not a 100 percent, but a 150 percent. Then, thaz the man I'm lookin for - cud be a boxer, a martial arts person.. whoever. In general, Indians aren't quite atheletic (be it olympics or wherever) cuz in the end, it all comes to the way juz how u set ur mind to.. u gotta set ur mind to win or die tryin.. someone who wanna rip his opponents heart and play like a champion.

Thaz a pipe dream and I'm almost sure I would never end up with such a team. On second thought, I think India wud never win again an international championship ever again... we are good cooks thou. there's no place in this world who cud cook so yummy. Sport - uhhuh.. not for us :-(

To my knowledge, If I were to name an Indian who had such attitude - it would be KAPIL DEV. He maynot speak great, but he's gotta instinct to win. I could feel it. Dhoni has got it for sure and there it ends..

Anyway, like I said, it was a personal opinion. ya gotta commend my opinion or disagree, say it without violently disagreeing bro.

Peace out.

by silverline on May 07, 2007 08:27 PM  | Hide replies

Yes I mean it indians dont have muscle power like haydens, gilchrist, jayasuriyas, afridis, ponting lara, etc...all i mentioned are meat eating people where as indians are veggies... it really requires a muscle and physical strenth to face the pace bowler

moron, meateating doesn't won matches for you, it is your mental strength that allows you to win WC like australia. Australia won the worldcup coz they are mentally strong enough to overcome any team in the world not becoz they eat meat. Go by your theory all team except India should won the WC coz they all eat meat.

If meat eating can make you a medal winner then Pakistan, Bangladesh and all Muslim countries would have been won all Olympics.

Grow up man.

Hey Get your facts right. Dravid did not blame anybody. Upon asking in he refused to blame anybody and took responsibility as team leader.

It is shame that people like you distort facts.

Time to retire
by Abhinav Krishna on May 07, 2007 12:06 PM  | Hide replies

I still feel that Sachin and Saurav should retire and give youngsters a chance. Both of them are old, worthless, slow and more importantly greedy over money...

India will improve if these two are gone. I hope and wish that both these players get ducks whenever they go out. India might lose couple batsmen cheaply but will eventually reap great rewards.

Lets sing the bye bye theme for S & S.

If sachin and Sourav is old then Dravid is young? He is also older than Sachin.. add the stupid captain to the list to complete the retire list. SSD.

It seems just one defeat is not enough for our boys.
by chanakya maurya on May 07, 2007 11:46 AM

Or, are they going to prove beyond any doubt in the minds of the cricket loving people of Bharatvarsh that they were under contractual obligations with the betters, to lose against Bangladesh while plying the cup ?

Otherwise, Bangla desh team is like a school team to them ?

Stupid players.

Available for sale at any time.

Sachin Tendulkar
Fit-again Sachin shows the way
by Sachin Tendulkar on May 07, 2007 11:39 AM  | Hide replies

The final day's nets session in the preparatory camp for the Bangladesh tour was all about intensity. Not surprising, for it was the defeat to the tiny neighbour that set off a startling chain of events - India's early exit from the World Cup, a drop in the rankings, coach Greg Chappell's signing-off statements on the seniors' commitment, et al. The otherwise listless tour of Bangladesh has been thus upgraded to a happening one.

Sachin Tendulkar, who twisted his right ankle on the first day of the camp, had two long sessions with the bat and the way he went after the bowling - displaying flamboyant backfoot cover drives and some arrow-straight ones - was sign enough that he is recovering well. That could take some pressure off the Indian thinktank after skipper Rahul Dravid got a bloodied nose after being hit by a R.P. Singh bouncer on Saturday. The captain skipped nets on Sunday but manager Ravi Shastri's words were reassuring.

"You know Rahul. He is a tough cookie. He has been advised rest and his improvement is being monitored all the time," Shastri said after Sunday's only session in the morning, which lasted well over two hours. "I am sure he will be dying to face the first ball on the tour. He will be ready and we are ready. We will go out there and put our best foot forward," Shastri added. The team leaves for Bangladesh on Monday morning.

Tendulkar's deep involvement with his teammates was one big positive at the five-day camp. Sourav Ganguly got a few tips from the Little Master on Saturday and on Sunday, it was young Manoj Tiwary's turn. Immediately after the Bengal middle-order batsman finished his batting session, Tendulkar called him, pointed a few things out and showed him how to tackle the short-pitched stuff, emphasising that one must not take eyes off the ball. Tendulkar's playing the part of a batting mentor could go the distance in clearing the air over the reported senior-junior rivalry.

Ganguly batted after Tiwary and soon after, with Yuvraj Singh and Mahendra Singh Dhoni coming in, India's never-ending problems against the bouncing ball resurfaced. Yuvraj hurt his knee and even fell over once trying to tackle the likes of Vijaykumar Yomahesh, Zaheer Khan and RP Singh. Ganguly got a rising one from Zaheer Khan on his knuckles and a few words were exchanged while Dhoni simply cut a sorry figure.

But things changed the moment they shifted to the other net, where the spinners were bowling. Even though Yuvraj was almost castled when he misjudged the amount of turn on a Tiwary leg-break, shots started landing in the stands soon enough. Dinesh Karthik, who did not get a chance to showcase himself at the World Cup, joined the camp on Sunday after modifying his marital status earlier this week. He was the last man in at the nets and although most of the regular bowlers had packed up by then, the wicketkeeper-batsman made the net bowlers run at him overtime and looked in good touch.
