He was cremated, probably the family might have worried, if at all he was burried his body may be excavated once again for Re-autopsy. so they felt inorder to avoid this better to cremate the body so that his soul will rest in peace.

He may not be a Christian, it seems that way! Even Evangelican Lutherans prefer a burial to any other method of cremation.

You are right to query the cremation of Woolmer. The Christian doctrine of resurrection has required the body to be kept intact. Thus their burial. Cremation started in England in the Nineteenth Century with the establishment of secular socities who saw the practical value of disposing of the dead in this way with urban developments making land scarce. Cremation is one of the accepted practice of the Christians now but to scatter the ashes remains against their doctrine of keeping the remains intact.

Where hv u been living Sonia?? Cremation is fast becoming the preferred funeral in Europe & USA & all over west for that matter. Cremation is not objected by any Christian group. Even the Pope allowed dispensation for cremation quite some back. John F Kennedy Jr, a Catholic was also cremated. Cremation is the most hygenic and most humane method of disposing off the dead. We are running out of burial grounds, and recycling graves as is done now is horrible and insulting to the dead. Shallow graves are dug up by wild animals, and the illegal trade in cadavers are all due to burial. Let make cremations compulsory as in China.
This World Cup was tainted with the Murder of Bob Woolmer. It was a Sad World CUP following his death. Millions of Cricket fans did NOT celebrate the Finals or the Win of Aussie in respect of Woolmer. May he RIP.
