Compared to the previous 2 WC finals SL battled bravely against Australia that was not seen in case of India or pakistan.SL managed to score 5.97 runs per over and was able to threaten Ponting at a stage when Jayasurya and Sagakkara going on nicely.But the target was beyond them and once Jayasurya gone the match was over.But I believe if Gilchrist gone early succumbed to Fernando the outcome of the match would be different.

no no they have learned from us what we did to TEAM INDIA FOUR YEARS BACK.WHEN THEY REACH THE FINALS WITH SAME RESULT.
Its truly a amazing performance by the lankan side in the world cup. They sufered a defeat in the hands of India just before the world cup, but came back well in the world cup where it needed the most. Our Indian Cricketers also have to learn this from them.

Dont bluff! when lanka was put to bowl expect malinga no other show a confident show or body langauge. It was clearly seen. If else aussies given some gap to dip (like the eelam tamil have given for them) the lankans mights had did something else to catch the match.

You are only as good as your last performance. As far as Team India is concerned, their last set of performances were disasters! So to criticise a team that gave such performances is not wrong!
Let them prove that they can do better and perhaps we may change our opinion. By the by beating a low lying team like BD is not enough proof that India are back on track. They must be able to beat Australia or SA or even SL at a consistent basis to prove the point!

Hi, before going to such hi-fi tournaments, one should play against India for practice. It happened many a times. Whoever practised against India could do well.
