by Sarnath Kannan on May 04, 2007 08:49 AM

Ireland has cunningly chosen Indian and SA as both these teams lost to bangladesh in world cup. Nice choice guys!!

Jayashree,

One Sachin century will again raise him to seventh heaven. Now the stink has reached there.

We are totally different in Indian and foreign pitches. A sporting, fast and seaming wickets will make our super stars feel like monkeys on hot bricks. Our tail enders will outshine them. On our friendly pitches, we can go on to break records after records.

What a pity we do not have any promising talent to knock out our ageing stars. We can of course go back to VVS et al. So Sachin, Saurav and Dravid will star for some more time. For all you know they may not be hunky dory, but seem to get along better than the "more loyal than the kings".

So at least for the time being, we can vent our frustrations at the failed "shooting stars". We seem to have no choice.

We are not doing badly either. May be NZ and SA can take some of our choicest comments to their shores as they have been let down after the hype.

Hey some of our friends want to enter in the team but Sachin & company is not allowing that too...so we can only express our frustration through wiords only....

senior players will fake injury to avoid ireland/England tour
by v m on May 04, 2007 12:07 AM

As long as we play countries, which did not reach semi finals, that will be good.

Most probably some senior players will fake injury to avoid pace bowling in Ireland and England and will be back for a home series!

Watch Out for RANKIN's pace and Kevin O'Brien
by Kabir D on May 03, 2007 06:53 PM  | Hide replies

We are going to see some fireworks from Kevin for sure but Rankin the opening bowler can surprise Indians...
Thankfully, Bangladesh and Ireland have arrived into International Cricket with a recent bang and hope they do a good job in giving the so called Cricketing nations run for their money!

I sincerely hope India can create bouncy and varied pitches so that we don't fail miserably in the 'away'games!! I still feel Irfan should get a chance to BOWL in International games so that he can get back to his old form!!

Oh! well! let us hope India plays with a SPINE! Keep the Chin up!

soon India will be phased out as a cricketing team just like S Korea and other emerging hockey teams dumped India at the bottom. India now has to invent a new sport which no one plays (kabaddi, gilli danda etc) so we can find mediocre guys who play it and win against 2 other lower teams. This way we will have out Tendulkars and those talk shows as well as rave and rant about being champions !!! kewlllll

kabaddi:))
i am sorry to say Shankar, there are some very good Kabaddi teams in Canada [indian made:)]. So I am not sure, if we can survive in that sport:)

No sir, we will never ape the foreigners and prepare bouncy and sporting pitches. How can you otherwise expect our top batting order to score centuries? The groundsmen will bend over backward to receive "bakshish" from Sachin and other superstars. And that's what the BCCI wants - it is like Bollywood - who likes the hero to get killed in the middle of the film?
When the Indian cricket team goes abroad, they leave their spines at home with their sponsors.

Yes, the "so called" top team; the winners of the World cup a generation ago - and the Team that belts centuries in home (dead) pitches and surrender meekly on foreign (sporting) pitches. Rankin will have our top batting order (that includes Sachin, Sourav, Sehwag, Dravid, Yuvraj and Dhoni) for breakfast if India bats first.
Pray and perform pujas for India's success.

You should leave Dravid out of there. He is the only player, who has better record on bouncy foreign pitches.

The Irish Cricket Union (ICU) is proud that two such great cricketing nations as India and South Africa are coming to Ireland to play each other and against Ireland," ICU chief executive Warren Deutrom told the ICU Web site...

did u note the terms "two great cricketing nations"??

one nation is full of players called chokers and the other always are home sick when ever WC starts so that they wanted to go home soon..

Yuvaraj Singh will get hurt so that he can avoid playing against swing
by Loser The Indian on May 03, 2007 01:29 PM  | Hide replies

Yuvaraj Singh will cleverly get himself hurt (just like Sidhu who used to get hurt just before Australia/WI tours) and cleverly come back for domenstic tour against minnows. I am tired of this psycho pretending like champion when he can hardly hit one ball straight. An ordinary spinner by keeping one deep square leg can take his wicket in his second over.

failuers are part n parcel..but wat heppend during this WC was its a "Collective failure" and not an individuals failure..cannot pinpoint if its yuvi alone or sachu alone..but drabs was magnanimous in taking responsibility for the failures of 10 other actors wen he alone was the shining doll...

Please leave Yuvi alone. He is one among the only few cricketers who hold the bat with confidence. When Sachin or Sehwag comes to bat, the cricket fan is doubtful. the fan expects him to be duck, anything else would raise a brouhaha, which may turn out to be criticism or lauding as time goes..
But when Yuvi comes in, there is a calmness, also if he gets out, there is a feeling that nothing is remaining...
