No Tendulkar - No Cricket
by Renuchandran on May 04, 2007 09:23 AM  | Hide replies

Living in America, I have never missed to watch even a single India match. I bought all the TV packages and watched all night and went to work in the day.
Now I don't feel like watching at all. Not because India lost so badly in World cup, but because they dropped Sachin.
Sachin has almost all the batting world records, but the current team is considered so great by BCCI thy don't have a place for Sachin.
To hell with BCCI and their cricket......

I agree with you 100%. I have followed cricket closely since childhood and watch all the games on TV by paying.Even when India lost in WC, I still watched all the games of world cup because I like to watch good cricket, it does not matter who wins or looses. But now I dont even feel like watching the one day series in BD even if India win because I am fed up with all the drama and the dropping of Sachin who has been made a scapegoat. No matter that he may be past his prime (due to injuries or whatever), there is no one who even comes close to him. Instead of scoring a hundred in every 7-8 innings earlier, he is now scoring a hundred every 15 innings, so what. Others are not even scoring half of those but still they are in the team but they dropped Sachin because some people want to prove that they are superior. I am sick of all of this and would not want to watch the sub standard players like Dinesh Mongia, Uthappas, Gambhirs, RP Singhs play.

What is so special about Tendulkar. Its true that he has almost all the batting records against his name. Being said that can you point out just a single innings in the last few years which has won a match for India? He is a very selfish player, who plays for his own records. Few years ago there was a list of top 100 centuries in test as well as ODI was published, but there was not a single century of Mr. Tendulkar in top 50. What a pity.

Why are you guys hell bent on criticizing Sachin? He is humble, modest and a TEAM MAN - without talking about his records. He is India's best ever cricketer produced and he can still play for another 4-5 years. I think the problem with so called 'fans' such as your self is u expect him to hit a match-winning 100 everytime. Its not up to him ALONE to make India win. He was never the savior. He is a batsman. Nothing more or less. If India manages to lose despite his 100s then no one else can be blamed but the rest of team - not sachin. Yes he hasn't been in the greatest form - but give the guy a break. No he is NOT selfish and yes he WILL fire - besides find me someone better than him in this great land of ours? Fans should stick by their players not bring them down... At least overseas Tendulkar still generates a LOT of interest and that will not change...

Its not form, but its the attitude that should be condidered. Remember Steve Waugh's last test innings, and remember the test innings Tendulakr played during the test match in India, against Pakistan. Check the results of both the matches and then you would know who the real champ is.

Tendulkar ofcourse the real champ. Steve Waugh was more given Indian respect which is letting opposition off of the hook.

MATE, I WATCHED ALL THE MATCHES FROM AUSTRALIA! EACH OF THE 51 GAMES IN THE WC!

WELL, SORRY TO SAY THAT YOUR DEAR T*end*ulkar (I gave him two stars, at the end of his career), FAILED MISERABLY AT THE WC.

MAN O MAN, WHAT DIFFERENCE IF HE HAD ALL THE RECORDS - IN THE PAST? THAT'S HISTORY MATE!

LARA WENT OUT AT THE RIGHT TIME, THOUGH HE IS ONE OF THE ALL TIME GREATS IN THIS GENERATION. TIME SACHIN ENDS HIS CAREER. HE IS SLOW. HE IS WEAKER. AND SICKER, WITH EACH PASSING DAY. I MEAN, HIS BONES ARE GIVING WAY, OR HIS ELBOW TROUBLES HIM, AND AGE HAS CAUGHT UP WITH HIM.

HE KNOWS IT IS TRUE.

BCCI WAS KIND TO HIM TO SAY THAT HE WAS 'RESTED.' THE FACT THAT THERE ARE TWO MAJOR SERIES' COMING UP, AND ONE OF THEM IS ENGLAND, SHOULD HAVE GOT THE BCCI TO GIVE TENDS 'ANOTHER CHANGE' TO SHOW IF HE STILL CAN PLAY, AND THAT TOO, AGAINST MINNOWS BANGLADESH.

I KNOW MANY WILL SAY THEY ARE NOT MINNOWS, SINCE THEY WON AGAINST INDIA, ETC....BUT THEN, THAT WAS ONE MATCH. SEE THE INDIAN TEAM PULVERISE THEM IN BANGLALAND. IT WILL BE A WHITE WASH, AND EVERY INDIAN WILL FEEL WHITE AND PROUD AGAIN.

WELL, THAT'S CRICKET, IN AMERICA OR AUSTRALIA!

TENDS HAS GOT THE TENDERLOINS!
EVEN MEN COME TO MENOPAUSE, IN THEIR CRICKETING CAREER!

AL IN AUSTRALIA

REVENGE of India : more sequels needed
by v m on May 03, 2007 11:26 PM  | Hide replies

I don't know why, they are playing only 3 ODI and 2 tests! We atleast needed 7 ODI and 5 tests. When there will be clean sweep, We will again start hailing Dravid, Sehwag, Tendulkar and Ganguly, who will be in the next world cup team.

Solution 1:
Ganguly, Tendulkar and Dravid will retire, if they are promised to be coaches guarranteed for the next 4 years. They will b ein lime light, so they will be able to earn money in advertisements and India will get a young team.
Gangly - Head coach, mainly for his fire
Dravid - Batting coach
Tendulkar - Fielding coach

Solution 2: To select only illegal immigrants of Bangladesh for the cricket teams!

Given that in some of the cricket ratings, our team is below Bangladesh - i would be comfortable with the itinerary. And think this - other than India, there is no other test playing nation that has lost more than 1 One day international to Bangladesh. We can set some achievable targets for other teams when we play 3 ODIs. By making the team play 7 ODIs we might also encroach on some constrained available time of cricket players on media ads. After all they are supposed to make money through ads in between playing cricket - not the other way round.

about the team India's Bangladesh tour.
by sanjay on May 03, 2007 10:32 PM

This with reference to the team India's tour to Bangladesh. Its high time the people of India needs to understand the fact that ours is a team who shows their talent among the most underdog player(lets not underestimate the other team) of the world and when it comes to the mightiest player they are nowhere to show case their cricketing skill.Lets ban cricket for ever or make the action more stringent. Are the players not aware of or have they lost their moral responsibility.Every body knows BCCI is one of the richest cricket board in this world so also their player.Though they are paid well for not performing. They should be penalise for that. Why the Men in blue looks helpless on the field when they are facing the Austrlians or the RSA(southAfrica).Look at the fighting sprit of the SriLankan player .We should salute them .Look at their Captain .He truly deserve kudos.Seer dedication and determination, they reached the final for whcih no one would have ever thought of.Lets have no mercy or sympathy to them .Unless and unitll they perform well they don't deserve accolades. Its high time now they should plan out the strategies and play well.

Team India's Bangladesh itinerary

Its's ridiculous, stop thess types of importance to the itinerary. Give the date and infos of match. The media is the main culprit to the debacle of Indian cricket. I am afraid the cricket is going the fate of Indian Hockey.

Agree with you. Nowadays anyone wants to write about cricket and become famous even though 80-90% of them do not even know the difference between a chinaman and a googly but they write as if they are experts. The media created all the unnecessary hype before the WC and when the team lost (why were they expected to win, I still do not know), they suddenly made villains out of the same players who were considered heroes before.
