Fact that he is forced into a situation where he has to answer his critics means he is slipping up more frequently. This innings come after several crucial failures. World cup failures, ICC cup failures. failures in all 3 matches against Australia recently. failure in SA both in one dayers and tests. Not to mention slow scoring. Every time he scores a 100 in a stupid meaningless pyjama game his fans will come out from hibernation. You don't play cricket to answer your critics or prove a point to a bowler. You play cricket to help a team win. As long as you do that you won't have critics. Dinesh karthik had so many critics when he was picked ahead of many specialist batsman. Does he have any critics now? As long as you help your team win matches no one is going to criticize you. Tendulkar failed recently on numerous occasions. Occasional flashy innings like this is not enough to cover his failures especially in Tests in the last 4 years.

May be u r sarcastic in ur comments, but it could be law of averages, sachin is supposed to be above average hence need to perform when the team wants him to which had dodged him for a pretty long time, but nevertehless it was a great innings of yore a gem of an innings, i am happy that this is one of the rare innings when India has won of course even if precariously placed.sunil hyderabad
Yuvraj has played a key role in our victory today. Has taken 3 important wickets and scored a crucial 49 on top of his usual contribution on the field. It really doesnot encourage the youngeters who are wanting to perform. If Sachin scores above fifty in any match, then take it for granted that he will be given the man of the match award. I dont understand this.

Yuvraj's innings of 49 was pretty scratchy and lucky not to get out on a few counts (caught behind...run out...). Compare that with Tendulkar's virtually chanceless innings of 93...till he played that needless shot against a rookie spinner.

I agree with you and Promod. By considering the fact that even Sachin had few occasions where he struggled. But that is the nature of this game and happens to eveyone. Ultimately what matters is the contribution. My point is that without Yuvraj's performance yesterday we wouldnt have won the match. That 3 important wickets at the right time (Van Wyk @ 82, Duminy @ 40) and 49 in the end (india known for failing with middle order and tail enders once the top order collapse). It would have brought back Yuvraj's confidence level even more if this was awarded to him).

yeah pooja you are absolutely correct. after a long time i watched such a good knock and the way he attacked yesterday, really treat to watch.
Sachin's 93 is nothing new to talk about as he played as normal as ever, but the eyes and minds of many critics of Sachin sees and thinks the otherway. I want to see the criticisms from Sachin haters on Sachin for his 93 now such as: - He got out at the crucial moment - He cannot take the team to win by playing till the end - When he reached his 80s, he was selfish to score century and that is why he scored 93 of 104 balls and slowed down! - He struggles against short pitch bowling - He got out to a new spinner and so is not good - He played against part time bowlers and not against bowlers like pollock Come on Sachin critics, you should have something to criticise him no matter what he does. Do not keep quiet! Say somthing like the above list! You people will not realise how lucky we are to have one of the greatest batsman in our era and the committment and service Sachin has given to us and India for the past 18 years. You will realise when he retires...but it will be too late then! Things that make one go sheeesh........

He got out on critical moment.. , Y u r not focusing other palyers.., He took 93 runs.. ,the rest of 10 players cannot complete the game.. why it happens man?.. , Could you tell any Openor always paying till end .. , Take the case of AUS. Gillcryst.. he palys well, 50 or 60 runs.. , But rest of team will play better ., But India having no such playes..
