rakesh b given a fair go
by Ajay Kumar on Jun 30, 2007 01:01 AM

Rakesh Patel not included in 2nd ODI! Joginder was selected for his domestic performance but was not given a fair chance. Now Bose has been included in team. Even Rakesh Patel shud be looked into as an option and be tried fairly so as to judge his talent at intnl. stage viz-a-viz domestic performance. Also it is said that 'always give a chance to players when they are in form.'

Ya i agreed with this artical as i have seen Rakesh Patel bowling. He is excellent perfomer. If you check his Ranji records, he perform consistentaly in everey season.
And the place from where he belongs has good/organized cricket. You might know Dipak Patel who played for NewZealand belongs to same region (Dandi - Navasari).
I chcekd player list today and he is not in eleven list. Anyway best of luck for indian team and hope they will win this match.

Its really funny, Article is on rakesh patel. Discussion is going on Sachin.
I had started watching cricket 12 years ago, after seing a briliant century by Sachin. So am die hard fan of Sachin.
But frankly there should be a performance criteria for every player, whoever it is. For betterment of sports in India.

by thahalka on Jun 29, 2007 02:27 PM  | Hide replies

Sachin and Saurav consumed 143 22 balls= 165 balls, and both scored 99 13 = 112 runs.

Then left behind is 135 balls to play where rest of the players scored 130 runs ( @ rate of 6 runs per over)
Whom to blame now?

You stupid,
Sachin built the innings with Dravid, which was needed then. Team India lost two players early and if Sachin and Dravid had also gone we would not have been in a position of 242. Stop blaming Sachin and Sourav. Its very easy to blame when u r not playing. Have you ever played a single match even at Ranji level to comment on great players like Sachin & Sourav???????????????

I think if there were australian players in this situations they would have scored 300 from 36 for 2...Even Jaysuriya and co. would have scored at more run rate than what sachin/Dravid scored. Its all a mind game and Indian team looses the match in the dressing room itself even before coming to the ground.

What ever figure given by you are wrong.
Let me correct it

total no of balls played by Indian Team = 305
Total Scores = 242
Sachin & Saurav played balls - 165 & Scored = 112

Extra runs of Indian ining - 13

Balls played by other 6 players = 140

runs scored by them 117 @ 5.00 per over

You should give proper statics stupid

Sachin & Saurav proved number of times that they are the best.

If you are talking abt recent two years tell be who is having best average in Indian team in Onedays than that of Sachin.

Don't fool others.

I do agree with you partly, not fully. As sombody rightly said, `Nobody above the game'. Every player must contribute positively. Look at the game attitude of Australians, then even drop Mr. Brett and won the world cup. We are proud of Sachin as he being an Indian and we are Indian too. Similarly, we expect his match winning game not other way round match loooooosing game.

why you think to replace Sachin ?? Do you think that sachin won the world cup 1983. We have lot of capable players only require chances to prove. better let him decide to retire gracefully instead of playing cricket only for his ad contracts

I think people blame sachin only because they have lot more expectations from Sachin than what he is doing now...The high expectations are only because of the hype that has been made when he came to international cricket. At that time there were no such players so we all though that he is a genius but now a days cricket and players have progressed so much that we feel sachin is no playing well...I think Sachin is at his own place where he was earlier but other cricketing world has moved ahead...so stop calling sachin 'God of cricket' and all.

to make understand, ball is not coming proparly on a bat & if he have not scored 99 runs, India might be all out somewere around 100 or 120. IF you are spending so much time watching cricket , why the hell you don't understand it.

If henceforth reply such a stupid way, i will give you a strong slap.... sattak, sattak

Hello,

We all know cricket, the ball was not coming on to the bat at the early part of the game when the ball was new.. what meakes him to slow down after 30 overs and when he was crossing his 80's .. that obviously puts pressure on dravid and others ..

You want to open the innings .. so that you can score more runs for record , get more changces for man of the match, man of the serious, get Car prices .. , ofcourse he has to build a healthy innings for team .. not for him .., he has to understand his role in the team ..india has to win matchs to regain it glory and also to build an young team.

But think we cant speak properly if 2 much crowd is there, we hesitate, we fear of being commented. Just think about sachin, he must always be in pressure for being observed by crores of people in TV.He is also human being... still he plays the game.. We get angry if we are commented, so also sachin.. just think practically..

This is the indian cricket board who has not choosen any person like him(Rakesh) and they belived those who have played lots of matches for country. I think this is the realy time to inspect anybody who was called up by board for this tour for immedialty basis. we have to play some fast attacking bowlers against RSA. bcz india have not any pace attack like aus, nz or rsa so we examine these guys for this time.
