Well to all those who think Dravid was behind Ganguly's success as captain--the answer is BULLSHIT. Ganguly was the reason Y dravid stayed in the Indian team as one day batsman.He was not good in one day's and then ganguly made him wicket keeper batsman. Dravid-thank Ganguly that u r still playing in the one day team.
For all those who Think Dravid was the reason behind Ganguly's success.Y Dravid is a flop as a captain ...why cant he score runs now...wats wrong. The main reason. India always had strong batting line up. Sachin Ganguly Sehwag Yuvraj Dhoni These guys will be among the top 10 batsman. But if we consider our bowling...its ranks ..behind..pak,aus,eng,soth africa and now even sri lanka.
So you cant win matches with ur batting alone.Ganguly's agression made up for the bowling quality that India always lacked.
Now if we are loosing matches its because Dravid is shit as captain. Ganguly is a great captian proves as the youngsters he backed made it big...but thanks to Dravid they are out of the team now.
Ganguly and Imran had one thing in common. Ganguly backed Yuvraj,Sehwag,Bhaji,Pathan,Zaheer,Dhoni to come down at number 3 when he made 183.Y is no youngster making it big under Dravid. Its high time we should sack DRAVID AND GET GANGULY OR YUVRAJ AS CAPTAIN.

You are right. ganguly win only because of greatness of batting of Dravid/Laxman/tendulakar during that period. Ganguly carried so long in test cricket just because of dalmiya otherwise see his test records on bouncy pitches against quality bowler.He has failed 90% of time.

excellent stats man...and u r also correct abt ganguly's captaincy. i dont remember he ever led from the front except that one time in australia...he ripped the benefit of dravid being in his team and at that time sehwag was also in excellent form and of course wiles of john wright whom dravid recommended for the job

Mr Amit Singh, Excellent Stats dude, throw this stats to bengal idiots , and add my comment also, when India went all the way to Final in 2003 worldcup, was not only because of Rahul's batting , but also he was keeping rite throughout the worldcup series.........so, an extra bowler or batsman was added in the squad.. bengal dogs look at this

r u an idiot or what?? last 2 matches ( 99 & 93) were against S. Africa. Sachin has an average of 49.01 against AUSTRALIA...lol. And talking about Namibia he has played only 1 match against them, against Ireland he got out for 4 runs & against Bangladesh he hasn't even scored a half century. abe gadhe. last two matches were against SA. and dont make fool of yourself by making such comments.
many here critisized karthik selection, but how useful he is now, if karhtik not there in dhoni's absence, there is no good backup, some may say dravid, but those two catchs in both the ODI's wow wat a catch and also he is a useful batsman, when there was a time after kirmani we were desparately searching for a good wicket keeper batsman, but today we have two, they both are excellent and future of indian cricket. its really wonderful to watch karthik's atheletic keeping.
What more you expect from Sachin. He played 143 balls. At this rate even if he plays 160 balls, he will some what make 108 runs. May be if consumes so many balls our total will not reach 248. Its time to tell him to contribute more for the teams cause and be more responsible. He should drop down in the batting order. Let him bat 5 down after Yuvraj. At that position if Indian team is crises after loosing wikects quickly, he can drop anchor and play for draw or whatever. Atleast let the others try to play for winning.

I support Crick fan. Of late Sachin is caught at wrong end. He is either struggling or playing for survivel. As a result the team is suffering and loosing most of the matches. Last match with SA he was very selfish. Sachin looks good against Minor Teams now.

I have commented from the past two matches that I have seen Sir Tendulkar play. Please leave his show at the world cup or he graces nothing. If any batman gets set and plays 100 balls in one dayers he is alteast to get 100 or he has consumed/ wasted more balls. He consumed nearly 150 for 100. He could have thrown bat at the ball at least in the last 10 overs, but no he did not. He appeared more selfish all through. I still dont understand what difference you see in this. Becuse this man opening he is seting a trend for the inning, I am sorry he has sent wrong trend. Meanwhile batsman at end were just throwing bat at every ball as they had every less balls to play.

HEMANT do you know at wat age those two aussie players retired - its 37, this is just a game, watch and enjoy it, if you dont like indian team, dont watch it. Hey yesterday did you seen some of the other sports results - CopaAmerica cup, brazil world's one of the top soccer team lost to mexico and that too with 3-0. england done so well in the tests against westindies, but yesterday WI dominated england and cruised to a easy victory. This is what sports is all about, so just enjoy the good game-dont cry and expect india to win always.

Sachin plans to play his own type of selfish cricket taking his own sweet time consuming countless dot balls. His sole aim and goal is to score his useless centuries that don't contribute anything towards India's wins. Last match Sachin played 143 balls for his 99. His strike rate was slower than Dravid who is usually the slowest scorer. Dravid is a gutless captain and has no say in the matter as far as seniors are concerened.

Remember NZ in 1983 WC scored at 12 runs per over with 8 wickets down. that too for 12 overs. That time at Tentbridge Kapil made 170 runs agains Zim.
