Whitewash

We may be overlooking one thing from this whitewash by England. The pattern exhibited by the West Indians is very similar to the Indian team. I can picture Dravid (like Chandrapal) as the lone ranger with Tendulkar (like Gayle)chipping in when it doesn't matter. Ganguly will be like Ganga a total flop and Karthick or VVS providing support to Dravid like Bravo did. The so called great players of spin are going to be bamboozled by Monty and in the bowling department, the less said the better. Cook, Pieterson,Collingwood and Vaughan will score centuries at will.

well i don't think we can compare indian team with the windies...we hv far superior batsmen in our team....who all have experience and gud one at that in english condition..except for jaffer and karthik...and don't forget the pitches will be a lot flatter in England in a months time...as it will be the later part of english summer...plus i think india never had any major problems with left arm spinners...monty will take wickets but i don't think he can be a match winner against indian batsmen...i think indian batsmen shud worry bout harmison and hoggard...for that matter even sidebottom has bowled well..but we have quality batsmen...we might still lose but i don't think we can play as bad as windies did...and bowling well zaheer and kumble are there...plus u can never underestimate fast bowlers in England...remember wat happened wen Prasad and Srinath visited England in 1996...they both played for the first time in England...but they bowled extremely well...so i think Ishaant sharma's height and pace can trouble the English Batsmen as well....

Sumit,
Hypothetically yes, India no doubt looks superior on paper but we are talking of the Indian team:-). Remember, before their last tour to West Indies? There was so much hype and fizz that the pundits predicted an easy series and like they say the rest is history. I agree with you about the pitches in July but our bowler (none of them are match winners outside India) are going to be clobbered too on those flat ones. In fact, June would have been ideal for Bose, Zaheer and perhaps Sreeshanth.By the way, I just checked the stats and found that in 1996 in England, India lost ODIs 2-0 in May and lost test series 1-0 in June. Like you said Srinath and Prasad bowled well but our batsmen failed with some sprinklings of individual centuries. The point is the team never puts up a combined effort like we have seen against Australia when Harbajjan (one series wonder), VVS and Dravid put up. Sometimes one wonders if that was a fluke.

Hi Sumit, no matter how "superior" or batsmen are none of them are going to play well and make india vitorious...i dont think our team is better then england team and that too in england..and whatever the weather is indan team cannot adapt to the conditions there and they r going to go down like hell...and the BCCI has already tought abt the reasons for the failure that "there was no coach when the team toured england..so they lost the series..." This will be BCCI's reply for the failure in the series...mark my words dude..

I agree with Lt Col Dr. And BTW, I am not a Bengali. Ganguly was short of confidence, but he has the fighting instinct and he can really take the fight to the opponents camp.

Oh, swamiji, since you are so good in predicting who according to you will win the test and ODI series. While at it could you predict the name of the future manager? I am just kidding guys, take it easy.

Mahajan Sir,

GOod that they are not in India, else they could have ended up playing in Ranji trophy from Panjab and Bihar without getting selected into Indian team. BCCI is is only from players from Maharashtra, and karnataka.

See the fate of VVS laxman, Kaif and Ranadeb Bose they are still struggling to get into Indian team. and these good players are out because of Ajit Agarkar, Pawar, Power, Karthik

i think u r true in regards to VVS laxman..but i think kaif got his opportunities...but he failed...and i hope they give enough oppotunities to Ranadeb bose...who seems to be an ideal bowler for english conditions....and surely Agarkar and powar are not test players...but i think karthik has been doin watever is expected from him...

sure we can give kaif a chance..but just tell me where is the place...watever happened with ganguly..he scored a century in the last series...then kaif can't open..coz jaffer and karthik are doin a good job..then already in line waiting are laxman and yuvi...who will u drop to get kaif in..kaif certainly deserves a place in ODIs....

Chris Gayle

Chris Gayle's performance should also come under the scanner. He has been one of the most unreliable opening batsmen in the recent months. Maybe he should come down one or 2 positions.

This is exclusively for Mathew John .please dont use these type of words. it is his own decison to drop chris gayle down the order. if you did not like it you should have told that you dont agree. this is not the best way to express yourself. this is open to all and you must maintain some standards

hi atul...well its really unfair to blame one player for the loss...well i don't think there is any opener who has been reliable lately except for Hayden...that too recently came back in form....
