John Wright achieved quite a bit when he was the coach. We were the 2nd best team then, and even drew the series in Australia. Look what Chappell has done. he worked in such a way that every player lost his self-confidence. Chappell and More and responsible for this downfall.

It's not the coach has done something. The players like sachin, ganguly, sehwag, harbhajan have gone from bad to worst. sachin, ganguly are playing only for recrods, they are good against Bangladesh, kenya, Bermuda, Scotland. Drop sachin, sehwag, Ganguly & then see the results. It will be good.

If thats the case, give me one logical reason why Sachin was demoted to bat at No 4, when the whole world knows he is most effective when he opens. John Buchanan and Ricky Ponting don't ask Hayden to bat at No 4. Similarly, Jayawardena and Moody dont ask Jayasuriya to bat at no 4. Four years ago, it was the same team that went into the worl cup finals. How can you say they were 'bad' and now, they are 'worst'?
Unlike their counterparts in the subcontinent our official headhunters have not covered themselves with distinction. They need to be more professional and sports-oriented in the discharge of their duties. Cricketers certainly need to play well. Others running the game need to show wisdom and not be an embarrassment to themselves.
1. Sandeep Patil - Who has been coach for Kenya in the 2003 WC 2. Roger Binny - Coach of victorious India U 19 WC team some years back, where Yuvraj was spotted. 3. K. Shrikant - Who has good cricketing brain.
Our board has the habit of never learning from mistakes. These buggers do not have the sincerity to make Indian cricket team better. There is no transparency in selection of the coach. Nobody knows who are the candidates and what criteria is used to shortlist. I mean, only a stupid person like Gavaskar can suggest John Emburey as coach for Indian team, who neither England nor any county team considers good enough. The selection is comprised of selfish and greedy people who only look after thier interests.

I agree... Gavaskar one of the Barren materials on the planet earth. Problem with him is his EGO and thats how he roped in Emburey. Saddest part is no one dared to ask him... on what basis has he come up with that name. On that note I appreciate Bedi. Well wait and watch... he might come up with more surprising names may be his son Rohan.

they will never learn, again the same bunch of selection committe will interview the new coach. read bedi comments on gavaskar which is 100% true - gavaskar thinks, that he is bigger than the game.
There are many coaches in India to take care of fitness. The seniors in the teams does not need a coach to teach them cricket. Why not give them the job to train the junior?
lets be simple and aim for best......... guys gt steve waugh make oue team fight hard...... ebjoy the game more and raise their playing standards.............. soon results would follow....
Guys, please start polling your votes as to who you want as the next coach for Team India... The wannabes are(hypothetic): 1. Steve Waugh 2. Sir Viv Richards 3. Imran Khan 4. Ravi Shastri 5. Sir Ian Botham 6. Arjuna Ranatunga 7. Sir Richard Hadlee

I think Steve Waugh is the best. He is very cool & dedicated cricketer, a real fighter n gutsy batsman.

THE NEW INDIA COACH SHOULD BE AN FOREIGN BECAUSE THEN HAVE AND GOOD RESAON TO HELP THE PLAYERS THEN CAN GOOD FOR THE INDIA TEAM SEE SRILANKA TEAM HAD COACH OF AUSTRLIA AND ALSO PAKISTAN HAD ALSO APPOINTED IN NAME OF ANY OF THREE AUSTRLIAN COACH THEN ALSO THERE IS AUSTRLIAN COACH TO COACH INDIAN TEAM AND THAT SO BE GOOD FOR THE INDIAN TEAM
The Board can save itself a lot of money, and possible humiliation, by opting for player-coaches. We have a lot of 'seniors' in the team who are no good, and are currently excess baggage. The Board should appoint one of them, or if possible, all of them, as player coaches.
