It's bad you know

The indian board ways never change. They cooled the angry people by choosing to rest the non performing seniors and mooting the performance based system. After two months when people starting to forget things they came back to the same old insane ways of handling things.

I don't think sachin, sourav has anything offer for ODI. Even though they can notch up couple of centuries and some wickets if they get lucky. At the end it's Indian cricket lossing an opportunity to try the youth an ready them for the future.

How in the world a player can oppose for performance based system if they are confident of their performances.

The so called seniors need to look hard in the mirror before even asking the board for graded system. They must feel shame for themselves. No matter what they acheived, why should they fear for performance based system???

Indirectly by oppsing to the performance based system, they are agreeing that they are not as good and they are extra baggage.

What they do if their children ask them that they need to buy them a bike even if they fail the metriculation??
Do they agree??
Is it justified??

OMG.. what a system it is.........

only expected
by Ajishnu Sharma on Jun 12, 2007 10:51 PM

What can I say? This was only to be expected. THe probably dialog at that time (when the Board slapped the ad restrictions and non graded payment stuff) was Pawar saying to his Maratha boy Dravid, 'Don't worry, boy, this is only till the heat blows off. The Indian public is full of morons with a short-term memory. Once this is on the backburner, we will get you guys back to earlier standards.'

I have been a lover of Indian cricket. It is disgusting things such as the subject of this news item that makes me renew my fervent appeal to all people - do not encuourage these guys. Do not popularize their endorsement brands. I wish someone would start a chain mail campaign that we could finally send across to the Board, that said 'You are responsible for the sorry state of affairs today and it is high time you guys all quit the scene - Pawar and his chelas as well as Dalmiya and his chelas.

Graded payments

It is we, spectators, only who can do a difference. We should hit them where it hurts the most - Reduce, if not stop using brands endorsed by the cricketers. This in turn will lead to a dearth of sponsors for BCCI, and, when money stops flowing IN, IT WILL STOP FLOWING OUT. And then players and BCCI WILL FALL IN LINE.

Well said buddy, This is the best way we can hurt them. I think after the world cup debacle instead of burning their effigies we should have burnt the brands they represent and that could have hurt BCCI and players more than anything. Lets say all brands murdabad (only those represented by players and BCCI)

I absolutely agree with your stand. We should start something that will make these idiots sit up and realize that their nonsense is not going to be tolerated any further, and that the public is not as gullible and stupid as they think it is.

i knew it this is what was going to happen. After WC, bcoz of public agony and to calm public to save their precious "stars" they came up with baloney that we'll have performance related contracts and stuff. And now, everyting seems to be cooled down, "star morons" again had their way. I think Indian public should boycott cricket until BCCI kick out all seniors and see what happens then...

luxury and comfort zone

It is a real pity that BCCI is towing the line dictated by players who are ageing fast and at best be termed as dads army.
New Zealand Australia etc give points on the scale of 10 to every player each year based on their achievements through out the year and those players who perform well in both ODI and Test matches get extra points ;players who underperform are relegated to lower grades meaning less money.
Our players are a pampered lot and something needs to be done to draw them out of their comfort zones.
pay more to players who are loyal and commited to the country and team and fight hard to win.
It is excellent to drop Sehwag he looked sick during Afro asia cup and was observed closing his eyes and taking deap breaths as if under excruciating tension even in such a lowprofile pressure free series clearely the luxuries he lives in do not allow him any resolve to bear heat and work hard on his game it looked he would go on a strecher any moment.
If Chandu Borde and his Indians have to win they will have to judge local conditions and grounds competently otherwise results onec again will embarass us.
It has been my experience in close proximity to the indian cricket team as a radio commentator
that Indians do not bother to work on which end will suit which bowler what is the direction of breeze which boundary is shortest how deep should be slip filders be from the stumps etc etc.
Infact inspite of having toured WEST INDIES only a year back we were the the only side
