You can see this all leading Sikh players, whether it was Bedi, Sidhu or Maninder, all were throughly humiliated and thrown out of the Indian team. Same treatment is being meted to Harbhajan. Sarandeep Singh was never allowed to excel at the first place. This is the sorry state of Sikh players in Indian cricket.

This is sikhs problem, if they stupidly think that they will be allowed to fully flourish in India

Shashwat,
If this is the treatment given to Sikh players, shouldn't they quit the game for good?!
If you are not wanted/neeeded at a place, you should leave and not complain about it like little girls!!
Sikh players should stick to Hockey or Football. These games suit them more. In these games they are either striking the ball with a stick or kicking it around. There is no real mental ability required, which is perfect for them!!
Look what our PM is doing after earning a PhD. in Economics. He is on par with any semi-literate peon in the Congress party!

We have always Prospered and alway will where ever we go and loyal to the land we live on. if we have an issue we go publicly!! let it be anywhere in the world. I agree with you about Sikhs/punjabis should play hockey and football. for your information india has 8 gold medals in hockey. What about cricket? one world cup...n let me remind you again it was again won by a Punjabi!!Kapil Dev. PM is bad why blame the whole everybody? who is complaining now? haha..u r a one funny guy i tell you!!! just try playin football for once you'll see.. (each professional player is capable of running a marathoon) or hockey..just try facing the ball with no extra padding (except shinpads) you need ball$ of $teel to play hockey.

Shaswant, You are an idiot for implying that Sikhs are intelectually inferior. If you look at Indian subcontinent -- three nobel laureates are bengalis (Tagore, Amartya, Yunus), at least two are from Punjab (Abdus Salam and HG Khurana), two are southern (CV Raman and Chadrasekhar). Again, ignorance is bliss for narrow minded people.

its because of people like you that stereotypes are created .....you should be ashamed of saying something like sikhs should stick to playing hockey....gone are those days when sikhs wer only farmers o nothing else.....you have many sikh doctors , lawyers , scientists, engineers, accountants, entrepreneurs.....sooo before you shoot your mouth of think...o maybe thats something u never learnt
In India Sikh players r not allowed to excel. The Board, the media tries to bring down a sikh player. If Sikh players r given a chance, India can produce many Panesars, even better than him.
By the rate Kevin peterson and alatair cook are going, i think they will shatter all the ODI records currently held by Sachin tendulkar. I am not just saying this by the rankings. If you see K peterson's average for both tests and ODIs average more than 52. He has scored 8 test centuries in 49 innings and 5 centuries in 45 ODIs. The average no. of matches he takes to score a century is much lesser than tendulkar for both forms of the game. Meanwhile, alastair cook has scored 6 centuries in 31 innings in tests. Moreover, both of them are still young. KVP is 26 and cook is only 22. I can see a bright future for england. India better get some youths into the team if they want to ensure cricket to survive in india. Expect more action from these 2 batsmen when India tours england soon.

Peterson is next big thing of world cricket.........he will hammer all d bowlders..there r certainly many good starters in world cricket..but this guy is somethin different..even Ricky Ponting said tht he sees Petersen as the biggest player in next era.
Its so funny to read that the best ranked Indian bowler Anil Kumble achieved his highest ranking in 1994 !!!! Wow.. what an achievement for Indian cricket
