sadly, while limelight has always been on players like lara, tendulkar, ponting, people dont take notice of consistent contributors like chanderpaul who may not have as much flair as these superstars but have always been fighters to the core. maybe they should get the credit and respect that is due to them. what do you say?

Chanderpal is a commited player if not a great player. We had such players in the history and they never had the reputation like the other stars. In West Indies itself, Larry Gomes was one who rescued when all other attacking players were back to pavillion, there was hooper who played many better innings while Lara was failing and even Kapil acknowledged it at some point of time.
In India, Ravi Shastri even though became star later was the one who played many innings with his limited batting skills. One of them is his partnership with Mohinder in Pakistan when anything touching legs was declared as lbw and Mohinder played for nearly two days to save the match.
Today we have Jaffer who has been playing great innings with out much flash but useful for the team. These are all unsung heroes and are committed.we need to respect them in the same way like we admire great players like Sachin, Lara and Ponting who are great by their sheer talent.
