Man I have to agree with a lot of you here. I was heartened to see Gangully being the senior pro stand up for Karthik when he was being abused. I don't think Dravid would ever do that. He's just not the type who comes across as a great man- manager. Gangully backed his players alway stood by and for them, he was the head of the family and took it upon himself to protect them. I have nothing against Dravid but the guy can at least smile a little more than always project a screwed up face on TV. Shastri said recently the players need to enjoy their cricket. Look at Karthik, always walks with a smile on his face, seems like he enjoys his cricket. Dravid only scowls as if he has an acute episode of piles or is gng thru mid-life crisis.

U r right my friend..its sad to see the best man is not leading our country. Ganguly is still the leader while Dravid inspite of being captain doesnt look like a leader.

Michael Vaughan was retained as captain when he cam back after the long lay off due to injury.Flintoff didnt do that bad job as a captain but england got Michael Vaughan back as captain as he is the best man to lead.
Lets compare Dravid & Vaughan for this test match. Vaughan single handedly almost turned the game around as we know another 60 runs added to india's chase it would have been a different story. Vaughan made 124 and Dravid made 37.
But the main difference i see between the two is the way england got tendulkar out.
Michael Vaughan had cook standing in a unorthodox positon between leg slip and short leg.Tendulkar played the ball and it went straight to COOK.thats what i call a brilliant captain.
Michael Vaughan is aggressive as a leader and better strategicaly compared to Dravid.
I am still not convinced after India's victory that the best man is leading our team.

Nanda, R u a relative of Ganguli or atleast a Bengali. Y r u always speaking against the captain. I think u have a very short memory about Dravid and Ganguly. Give him some time buddy. Everyone cant be aggressive and win a match, then Sreesanth should be the captain of India. Ganguly is a good captain but he outlived his shelf life and also a reason for disintegration in the team during his tenure. Look at his records and speak. Dont have a narrow mindset about anyone. Everyone knows that the captaining the Indian team is the toughest job because U have to adjust to play with former captains and learn to rein the young horses.

Not a long while Under Dravid captaincy India peacefully existed from world cup in the Ist round. Under ganguly India reached final . This is the best comparison so far . World cup is the prestigeous title even Sachin came out as a better captain than Dravid . Mr Aaron Kumar, to write such things u need not be a bengalee , only u have to be a little rational. So be ratinal first before comparing them.

dEAR bENGALI You are rational. Except World cup debacle overall dravid captaincy is much better than ganguly. Please note that india is never a good starter & due to wrong format of world cup, one match cost us dearly in last world cup. During ganguly captaincy also india lost 1st match in world cup, almost lost to team like holland & stones were thrown to players house. They could return back in tourmanent because of format as remainin win assured them in semifinal.Offcourse herioc performance from tendulkar & bowlers. So please stop giving stupid comments on dravid. He is a no political captian while ganguly was backed by politics.

Hi Aaron! Sorry coz I am going to say against you. For how much time we'll"Give him some time buddy".As far as my memory goes he's been captainig India since 2005 and from that time we've just lost and nothing else(When Ganguly was not in the team).In the world cup we lost still Ganguly was the best one there. and our team has lost all the good players(Bhajji, Sehwag,Pathan,Kaif). Its not about just captainship its about standing by your players which Dravid never did. And yes it was under Ganguly where we were much more united. We again look united becoz Ganguly is in thhe team and everybody is happy about it.for ur information these are the reasons why team call him "dada"
Ganguly lead the indian team in giving back to the english whatever they throw at us. It was good to see a aggressive Indian team on the field.I coudnt imagine this happening when Ganguly was out of the team.
yesterday i came across an interesting piece of article in the australian newspaper.The article was headlined as "WRATH OF KHAN"
There was a very interesting line in this article..."Karthik was subjected to a similar sort of treatment during the first test at lords that lead to a heated argument between the two captains Michael Vaughan and Saurav Ganguly"
I was suprised to see they think Ganguly is the indian captain.Well Ganguly looks like a leader so no wonder they made a mistake.

Dont forget the Chappel story, its Ganguly who brought Chappel and finally it was Chappel who nailed the coffin for Ganguly.

Now its time for india to go for the kill and field the best possible 11.Dravid is out of form and a burden on the team. We should rest Dravid and Get yuvraj to bat at number 6.Laxman can bat at number 3 whil Sachin or Ganguly are more then capable to captain the side in Dravid's absence.
I think captaincy is affecting Dravid's batting. He failed in South africa and now he failed in England against a second string english bowling attack.

Boss, It is a game. You can not give paramount performance every time you go out. Similarly you won't be pathetic every time you go out. Learn to take success and failures in your stride. Every coin has two sides. Learn to Appreciate when our players are doing well - not only in cricket but also Tennis, Hockey, athletics. ANd also learn to be patient when players do not perform as per expectations.

big deal.. what do u think they would have achieved..probably get 1-2 more wins even if they wud hv entered super 8..like bangladesh also won a game..india would hv won a game or two..what else.. This is test cricket..its different..they have been doing well..won the series in wi, won a test in SA-never done before..and now in england..Lets hope they win the series and continue same form to australia too later.. I really dont care about past..it was one mistake,, one bad game against BD thats it.. BIG DEAL..

Captain also contributed and he managed his bowling resources quite well. It is first time in Indian Cricket history that Indian team has scored test victories in three consecutive overseas series (I am not counting Bangladesh series). What was the last time India won a test match abroad--it was against Zimbabwe and even that was after a long time. I do not understand that why you are hung upon one world cup. It was simply one bad phase. It can happen to any team. Remember that Ganguly's team India was beaten comprehensively by New Zealand just before WC'03.

Mr Verma did u forget Ganguly,s team reached world cup final , Dravid,s went off Ist round . Nobody will remember Kiwis tour . People remember prestigious world cup. Dravid set an ignominious example of losing world cup. That is the true comparison as far as Dravid and Ganguly is concerned
