Match officials continue to do the unthinkable. Not so long ago a football official had even difficulties in counting two. In a world cup football match he courageously showed three yellow cards to eject a footballer when two would have done the trick. In a country which happens to be in the forefront of science and technology one is surprised to see the cricket umpire not taking the help of the available technology. Some say when in doubt there is no need to plunge headlong committing a blunder. Umpires too need to liberate themselves from their stone age mind set. Lovers of cricket and admirers of the legendary Sachin and Saurav love to see good and clean cricket and the umpires are paid to facilitate fairness and justice all the time. Service of the game through promotion of justice and fairplay is what is expected from the learned umpires.
Dear Simon, You should be aware that giving Sachin out wrongly, even by mistake, is considered a cardinal sin by the Indian diaspora. So, please see the replay on the boundary screen or consult the third umpire before raising your fingers. The sooner you learn this, the better for the game, as well as for your finger.
The excuse technology could confuse matters is a stupid excuse. If there is doubt even the slightest benefit goes to the batsman. So where is the question of technology not being conclusive becoming a problem? Saying technology can only be aceptable if it is 100% right 100% of the time is just a lame nonsensical excuse. if technology can help to take better decisions, use it. Why should technology have absolute characteristics? What on earth is not relative. But benefit of Doubt to the batsman ends it all. I think there is no more excuses to take. Technology should be whole heartedly utilised to get better results. If some human beings loose some importance, but we get beter and fair results, why should we bother? We like the game to be fair. Thats it. That all it is.
umpires are human beings, so they r bound to make mistakes.Even bad decisions r part of game . sometimes it goes into ur favor & other times it goes against u. But it was really brave of Taufel to accept that he had committed a mistake. Rajesh

Taufel done that deliberately sooner or later he will accept this too. If he felt that he gave the wrong decision why did'nt he called him back like he did for Peterson in first test....... Because he never wanted sachin to reach century because that will take him a little more distance away from his country mate Ponting.

You are right.....this isnt the first time he has handed out a bad decision to Sachin....remember India vs Aus 1999-2000?
tuffnel is the best unpire in the world but he create bad mistake he give out our circket god ow bhi century pe hamare desh ka uar ek record hote hote bacha per tuffnel ko manana padega usne apni galti mani warna bacuner to hamesha tendulkar ko wrong decsion deke out karta hai

taufel was courageous enough to say that he made a bad decision but was not courageous enough to call back sachin and let him play.
We indians accept that as bad luck and forget it while the whites dont take it and fight for it. See, how many have praised taufel "haa baap taufel bahut accha admi hain" and what not. How many times have sachin been given out for wrong reasons. Every time he is back in form or reaching form some thing or the other comes in his way. Our great steve bucknor, taufel u name it and they are there to give sachin out for the slightest doubt.
All these umpires are willing to give indians out at the slightest doubt. Which otherwise always should go in favour of batsmen. But if thats an indian batsmen then it goes against his favour.
Taufel had the courage to say the truth, appreciate that, we are believers of truth and will always believe what ever is said as truth. But its high time that we see what is the under lying meaning when he accepts a day after it, why not accept it when he has said that he always looks at the big screen. He could have called sachin back. His error has cost sachin which he can always score but would have been a very good motivator for him to go on and play some more brialliant innings. Sourav was denied a century which too would have give a good signal the people who dropped him.
But who cares, "taufel mast admi hai sach bola baap, maan na padega, Sachin ka bad luck hain"
taufel is no doubt, he is one of the best, many people critisize him here, i want to tell to those, just watch our indian umpire standard today and its not fair to critisize him.

look this is what we indians do. We will always praise the whites and show ourselves down. Buddy can u tell me how many indian umpires in the ICC panel and how many times have you seen them give wrong decisions. Did you ever see Venkata raghavan give a wrong decision, And for your information you dont see any indians officiating in international matches. so please dont shoot from your mouth. Dont always say something is bad with india. The discussion is about taufel so keep to it.

Don't compare indian umpires to those umpires, as there are no indians in the ICC umpires panel. And ICC might have selected them because of their ability to make right dicisions. And moreover they have the support of technology and the third umpire. This type of wrong dicisions can't be accepted from the good umpires.
Taufel, tujhe ab pachtava ho raha hai.. jab chidiya chubh gayi hamara khet..! Ye austrailian billi sau chuhe khake haj ko jane ki baat karti hai.. No Maafi For This Wrong Decision! It is like a habit of the umpires to turn off Sachin's innings by giving a wrong decision. Sachin was given out many a times in Austrailia also.
