Kevin pieterson --> bowled by paul coolinghood ball at 99 runs... Dhoni will be playing for England Side...as kevinPieterson for playing for IndiaSide...just a Replacement
I think Yuvraj Singh should have been in the playing XI, in place of either Ganguly or Laxman (I am a great admirer of both but India's interests must come first). Yuvraj can add a lot more value to the sqaud, and he seems to be in good form too.

Dear boss Kolkata you will not this on streets of Kolkata. for your safety please.
It is good that he has passed the fitness test. If included in the playing eleven, he should not breakdown on any of the 5 days thus not to fit to play. We will be left with only Jaffer, Karthik, Dravid, Tendulkar and Laxman (5 batsmen) as the regular Dhoni. Given the form of the above mentioned players, it will be pathetic if Ganguly breaks down. It would be wise to rest him and take Yuvraj or Gambhir instead.

Mr.Dutta, It was just only my thought. Even I like Ganguly. But the point is when his fitness is under doubt why play him. What if the back injury surfaces again during the test match. We will be one batsman short and also a part time bowler short. That is why without risking him playing, we should play a player who is fit

Baba,
For a simple reason during the first innings the pitch will be fresh and during the seconds inning the pitch will have lot of rough. Anyday a 50 in the second innings is more valuable than a 100 in the first inning. Hopefully idiots without any cricket knowledge will abstain from posting in the forums from here on.

IDIOT, scoring a 50 in the second innings is worthier than a first innings 50. Dont you know that? if not shut up ur mouth...
RE:Perception
by Ifear paceman on Jul 27, 2007 01:22 PM
Both of those innings were precious. one on day two under cloudy conditions by jaffer. Another on worn out wicket by Karthik.
remove any of those innings we would have lost. Wel done both.

Each and every sizable innings > 30 was precious in the previous test as it was a low scoring game. Dhoni made 76 but what would have happened if one of three decisions was against him (One catch was dropped and two umpiring mistakes) ? What if any of the players ( Jaffer, Karthick, tendulkar, ganguly, laxman and dhoni didn't score those runs... All the innings were equally important... Jaffer was dropped on 0 in first innings and went on to make 58 later ... who knows if sachin and ganguly were not given LBW , They might have gone to century as both were looking in good touch ... So everybody is important ... One failure or one great innings doesn't really count ... If one fails others has to take the charge ...The way Australia does ...

u said tendulakar would have score century if not given LBW is absolutely ridiculous...he has got so many lives in first innings.after that he fails..also he is playing for last 18 yrs...he may have got too many lives..did he score runs then....he is absolutly not test match player..never won test for india when playing in away test
So that our indian players can make a new world record Hitting 500 Runs VS the Strong team in the world BERMUDAAA ... Come on indian players...Cheers...
Record 1: India will hit 500Runs.the first team in the Cricket hitting 500Runs in a one day cricket..
Record 2: Shewag will hit about 200Runs in 44 balls..fastest double century and the first person in Cricket will reach the above 200Run in One day cricket... Still more records will be invited from U guys ??? welcome ur comments plz ...

Pls leave space for youngsters like Yuvraj Mr. GAng
you were the prime factor y v lost against Bangladesh.. even if we lost early wickets.. the bangl did not have a menancing bowling line up.. u swalloed all the balls in the world having a strike rate of 50 just to save ur position in the team letting the team to the defeat..
wen it was crunch situation in Sri lanka match where u just needed to play an innings like u played against bangl (just to stay in the middle) you intentionally threw ur wicket..
This is not the place to score for you. Play for the country

Dude, it's Ganguly who backed Yuvraj to the hilt that he's today a steady player. Don't forget that. And in the last test also, Ganguly effectly cut Matt Prior from teasing Karthik from behind the stumps. He's been a class player who made a hard earned comeback, which is commendable (as not many youngsters showed the resolution like him.)
