by KC on Jul 25, 2007 09:24 AM  | Hide replies

look what money can do....
the same Kapil who was praising sachin few days back is syaing he is not a worthy player.....
let him join ICL and then see how he starts prasiing him once again....

and he is at pains to see chandigarh got a match after 14 years...Haryana his state has not been in ranji semi finals for last 17 years what he has done for that ????? I am not very Happy to write this but i am also from Haryana and knows my team very well and know what he has done for the state..

criticising is very easy , even i can do that from here ... but i will never criticise the same people who are in my profession simply because i know my profession very well and efforts required to sustain day in and day out.....

if he is so concerned about game of cricket let him coach Haryana State Ranji side and make it into winner, then he must have done some good work.....other wise everyone knows where is the heart ...its so simple dear its MONEY...

Hello KC.

You are absoutely right, it is easy critize by sitting in a AC Studio. If Paaji is really worried about the Indian Cricket he should do something for it, share his experience with them, give the players tips, tell them how to improve the stroke play etc. Or atlest train the new talents of Indian Cricket coach them.

Lara in ICL
by Rex ACD on Jul 24, 2007 07:15 PM

Remember...
Lara may be King Lara for so many of his fana...
But if there is one person who has contributed so much to the down fall of Westindies Cricket, its him... His ego and self centered approach has always been proven detrimental to the game in Westindies... So, if he joins ICL, please take that that's the end of ICL

GO GREAT GUNS, ICL
by Emperor Ashoka on Jul 24, 2007 05:06 PM  | Hide replies

ICL has signed up the great Brian Lara. Earlier I heard that ICL was planning to rope in recently retired players like Glen McGrath, Shane Warne etc. also to play in their inaugural 20/20 tournament being planned for sometime later this year.

I think that ICL should give better offers to some of the Indian players like Dravid, Kumble, Sachin, Sourav, Laxman and sign them up.

Go Great Guns, ICL, I wish you all the best sincerely.

NOTE: Once you do this, we will be glad to have all youngsters playing for BCCI - XI (official Indian team)!

you bet,
they (the players you mentioned) will join the ICL league as sson as they are dropped .....
that is why BCCI would be picking them irrespective of their failures....till they reach a compromise with ICL

Why do you feel so happy about insulting Shakuni (he was a master planner, strategist and communicator as per Mahabharath!)?

Its all about money honey

I found it quite funny to read, "Good for the Game, I will serve Cricket" from the likes of Kapil Dev. No doubt he was an excellent player. His motivation though is money. How come one never saw him with this passion about the National Cricket Academy. It's his manner of speaking that hoodwinks everyone. Even if he says, I am going to take a bath, it sounds as if he is saying it with passion. :) so why is he not with "Bath houses". Well, thats a secret. Anyway, its about money and not the good of the game. Kapil was the chairman of selectors of Haryana team for 4 years following his retirement, did not attend a single meeting. He was given land for an Academy, that land used to be given out on contract to farmers to till it. Ask anyone in the cricket circle in Delhi, Haryana and Chandigarh, what motivates him. Anyway, even if its money he is after and he can help youngsters with cricket, good! He should be careful though about the careers of the youngsters that he is impressing. He spoilt a few careers in Cricket in 1998 in Haryana. The league may be very entertaining, may even build stadiums. Great. But remember, for a local boy, there is a difference between getting a job with the Delhi Police and between getting a job at a security company! (and of course, after retirement, the Police guys join the security companies at decent levels, but can you compare a Police Constable and a security guard outside an ATM?)

It is pre-determined mindsent expressed by you about the organisation and about Kapil Dev. Let great legend players / legends of the game play their part in making something shinging, let it be cricket or any other sports. The truth about BCCI is transparent that character /manner of operating is not crystal clear and there is too much uncertainity.

Any organisation with valued principles has a right to exits in its own way. Then why are you so hostile to the idea.

The BCCI needs to upgrade its style and ethics have to be shown and the true potential of logic have to be appreciated.

predetermine: To determine, decide, or establish in advance.

What organization did I talk about? Guess you did not read it through thoroughly!

I would like to say another thing: In May/June, the weather in Delhi gets to be very hot. (Now you may want to call it a predetermined mindset expressed by me but I would call it a statement made as a result of experience, education and reasoning, that makes it a view point! Do me a favor, ask people and they will agree that Delhi gets hot in these months)

"Let great legend players/ legends of the game play their part in making something shinging (sic)" Ha! this shows your lack of reasoning/experience and a presence of predetermined notions in your pretty little head. Being a selector, one could play one's part in shaping young careers, but if one chooses to stay away, any reasonable man would assume that one is not interested in helping out.
hostile? No dude I am not hostile, just a wee bit cynical about their intentions which I feel are different from their speech.

One thing is clear though, you are pretty predetermined in your mindset towards the BCCI :).
In India, everyone has an opinion about Cricket. You , me , your neighbour. If you were incharge of BCCI, it would function differently than it would if I was incharge. That's how it works, with governments, corporate houses and everyone. Each step of a cricket body in India will be under scrutiny. Keep an open mind! what i wrote is laced with with facts.

Buddy, if ICL is gonna recognized by the ICC then the indian cricket scenario will change.....
there would be two league fighting for the best..... one of professionals (ICL), a private body.... while the other is BCCI, a government body run by politicians.....
for me and for the nation it would be a competition....
Competition for survival with opportunities to win heart of a billion nation and a trillion world.....
Atleast for me its entertaining and exciting.....
I love the game....
Love its growth

Dude, you have to understand the constitution of the ICC first. ICC can not recognise ICL!
Secondly, BCCI is not a government body! Wonder who writes your script.
The same people who were a part of the BCCI are the ones shifting to ICL. It is different to play and different to run the game.
Kapil was a good player once upon a time, but sucked as a coach.
The first important thing to do before forming an opinion is, to get the facts right!
Concentrate on that before forming an opinion!
