Opportunity for BCCI
by heaven on Jul 23, 2007 02:11 PM  | Hide replies

BCCI has a wonderful opportunity to to create a paradym shift. Few suggestions:
1. Lets have no coach for sometime and show the world. We have champion players in the team, since they are all fighting shy of becoming captain etc, let some of them become coaches; part time! I mean, while they need practise, let them coach the boys on the field. Anyways, it is well known that a coach cannot teach Sachin to bat now, so Sach can don the mantle of a part-time coach.
2. If at all they need a coach, get a coach from a different sport; maybe a sport where fitness and killer instinct are mandatory. Lets look at a former football coach, say maybe from the EPL, Spanish Liga or maybe even the Italian league, why not the South Americans. Or maybe a hight contact sport like Rugby?
3. The coach should just get the guys mentally and physically fit. No need to enhancing skills; skills are there, it only the fight which needs to be upgraded...Indians has no appetite for a fight....

Any suggestions?

Just ask these players to play for pay.
Like how daily wagers live in this country. Then they will show their full potential how the daily wagers showup in their job.
Just simple like that...

As if Steve Waugh is interested ??What do you think?that he would jump at the offer?
After the way the the public, media and the Indian players behaved with and treated Greg Chappell,no good coach would be willing to enter the Indian dressing room

Worst Humiliation for Team India - BCCI
by Bala Saaheb on Jul 23, 2007 11:52 AM  | Hide replies

BCCI and the Indian team wants a puppet rubber stamp Coach. They want to dominate the Coach and give instructions.

Unless the senior players like tendu, dravi, gangol, yuvi remain in team India, India will not improve its performances.

They just want to have the cake and eat it too.

No Australian!!
by abs on Jul 23, 2007 11:39 AM  | Hide replies

From this article it is clear that BCCI has made up it's mind that they wont go for any Australian Coach irrespective of the past records of that coach...
I think it is totally unprofessional and childish reaction after the unsuccessfull campign with Greg..
They might end up appointing a South African guy who has never coached in his entire life...
It is sad that EGO is playing important role than the team's interest in selection...

There are Former Indian players who are interested to coach but either they are rejected or they are pulled into match fixing scandal ....eg Mohindar Amaranath and Kapil Dev...
I Agree with Mr Sameer regarding the ego factor in every human being...But these BCCI guys are representing our country and they showing EGO is equivalent to our Country showing EGO to outside world which is sad...am i wrong??

Wright doesnt want to move out of New Zealand now and thats the reason he declined the job at Aust Cricket Academy. Apparently, he has lost his interest in coaching any cricket teams after dealing with BCCI and the Indian Superstars LOL!!!

Crowe Not Interested in Indian Job NOW ?
by km vb on Jul 23, 2007 11:17 AM  | Hide replies

Crowe very wisely turned down to take up the Job now.I think,he prefers to take up the job after Sachin and Ganguly gets retire. Can coach up coming new lads but not very very seniors who wants to hang on and hang on even they cannot perform better. For example, young and talented is waiting for his chance.By waiting for match to match sitting and watching he will be demotivated.BCCI should make them to retire or make them to sit for some matches and give chance to youngsters.
