Hole & his sidekick fail
by Suman Bhat on Jul 21, 2007 02:11 PM  | Hide replies

Dravid & Kartik failed again to build on the good work done by the indian bowlers.
Kartik as expected failed in english conditions as opening the batting outside is not everyone's cup of tea.
Hole-Rahul Dravid-The Captain- now i guess his batting is also turning into a hole.
He is no longer wall as a batsman.
I wonder when was the last time he scored some runs when it mattered for India.
Really cant remember and i guess he has already joined the party of people who are living on the past laurels.

Ganguly quote - My 34 is equal to hundred on old ball.
or is equal to 17 on new ball. My fans now compare me with those who scored less than me.

Chalo Bongs apne apne dhol bajao.

Dravid is no longer a wall...thats so true.

Last time when India played against a decent team was south africa in south africa.

Dravid scored
first test-32 & 1
second test-11& 5
third test-29 & 47

Its amazing looking at the recent performences Dravid is worst compared to sachin and ganguly but some how he still manages to stay away from media criticism.I guess people have high expectations from sachin and ganguly.

Take a example Dravid made 2 and Sachin made 37(got a 50-50) deciesion still people are after sachin. No one is bothered that the great wall failed again.

Hows Monty
by prakash mohanasundaram on Jul 21, 2007 01:19 PM  | Hide replies

Friends, i have seen very little of Monty's bowling and from what i saw, he seems to be a decent bowler.Left arm finger spinner with decent flight and subtle variations. But he looks far from threatening!! But the hype or popularity surrounding Monty seems huge. He has good average and strike rate for a newcomer, but is he worth all the hype? Or who can be compared to Monty?

Looking Ahead

I guess enough has been discussed about yesterday's performance. It is quite a task on hand today. Its definitely gonna seam around in the morning. Hence Gangs and company has to negate the swing. I dont think RP singh will last long in the morning(we cannot bank on that cos he is not a batsman). Hence it is Ganguly, Laxman and Dhoni. Ganguly should watch out for the ball shaping away from the off stump, especially Sidebottom's deliveries, Jimmy Anderson is dangerous under these conditions. Laxman can negate swing and bounce quite well but both Laxman and Ganguly can be jittery starters at times. Thats something to watch out for. And RUNNING BETWEEN THE WICKETS. Both have a record of sorts when it comes to running between the wickets. So best is not to go for quick singles, converting ones in to twos etc. These two are better off hitting boundaries Dhoni is not a great player of swing, hence Laxman and Ganguly should hold the fort till noon. Cos by then, the ball would have become slightly old and would not seam around too much. This will be the best time for someone like Dhoni to come in and score quick runs.

So morning session we should manage to score around 100 with the loss of RP Singh. And the Dhoni show can be around Tea time. If this happens, we can have a good match on our hand. Maybe get England to bat again today evening and try to get some quick wickets.

This time, unfortunately I mut say looking at our recent performance that I agree with you. We didn't really pose any threat or gave a strong fight.

If we lose the game, that's acceptable but the way we loose it matters the most. Same goes for winning.

Raeply to bave boy with a proverb ''KUTHOM KI BHOKNE SE HATHI CHAL NAHIO BADALTA''

You r Sick, why aint u seeing that he made 37, and the way he been out, it is clear that it was a doubtful decision by Mr Buckner her could have been gone for the Benefit of doubt, and may be u not know, that benefit of doubt always goes in favour of the Batsman, but he was on the other way, and Mr Buckner is infamous for his attitude towards the Indian Team in Total and to Mr Tendulkar in particular( there are so many instances for example, better u check that). but wht making u put out all this ur crap here, is just beyond brain, as either u r sick in mind, or u are just another hater of tht great Batsman of the world. But may be u knowing the old proverb in Hindi, I just quote that here , exclusively for u, dave boy, and that is " Kuthom ki Bhokne se Haathi apni chal nahi badaltha" so Mr Tendulkar or his Trillions of followers are not affected by this ur baseless, senseless, and moreover brainless criticism. Now u go and take a Break and eat and drink some think, "chal hawa ane de" , "bada aya Sachin ke bare me bolne". And I really Doubt, 'DO U EVER SEEN A CRICKET BAT'

How about this??????? Deeepppaaaa
The unimaginable happened on Sunday. Sachin Tendulkar joined the ranks of mortals in the eyes of Indian cricket fans. After pottering around for 33 minutes for a solitary run, he lamely poked a widish ball from James Anderson to the wicketkeeper to plunge India to 28 for 3 and began his walk back to the dressing-room. The normal consequence of the Tendulkar dismissal at an Indian ground is a hushed, funereal silence. That was never going to be case this time because of the presence of a large and voluble posse of English fans. But when Tendulkar was about halfway to the dressing-room, the booing started, most noticeably and vociferously from the Garware Pavillion, which is just above the dressing-room, and which is populated exclusively by the invitees of the Mumbai Cricket Association. And soon it spread to the other parts of the ground.....
ANY COMMENTS???????????????

Mr. Dave, i dont think it is Bade Bade Baathe, cos he said something like I would like to Score a century. Its just a desire or wishful thinking. Had Tendulkar said " I DEFINITELY WILL SCORE A CENTURY" then it is big talk. But this one was just wishful thinking.

I feel we should not hold him on that or mock that statement. And still there is another Inning left so he still has another shot at the Lord's Century!

i,do not understand, why dravid is the captain of the indian team.... ( 1.) he is not batting well. (2) He can not bowl, (3) not very good on field .. he is there in the team . because he is the captain. so, BCCi should handover the leadership to a person who has all three qualities BAT, BOWL & Field & the most exeperienced " SACHIN TENDULKAR

dude you're comparing Dravid with Ganguly???

Both are good players. Sorry correction, Ganguly was a good player & Dravid still is a good player. In either way, their style & nature is different. How could you compare say a Lamborghini Gallardo with a Rolls Royce? Each has its uniqueness, different class & would appeal to that situation.

Even in general, Dravid would win hands down over Ganguly or for his consistency may be even over Tendulkar as well.
