U R mistaken friend. He was a great cricketer, who had made three consecutive centuries at the mecca of cricket - LORDS. out of them, 2 have been won by Inida then. Even our great batsman sachin has not done this feet so far. Pl learn to respect the achievers.

know your history mate. dilip vengsarkar was a terrific middle order bat. and definitely an out and out team man. a true hero. the day you start acknowledging such true champions you'll become a better person!

You should respect every person and especiaslly the people who have represented our country in any sports. Whatever may be their capacity. Derogatory or demeaning statements like yours will not bring the true champions and likes of Mr. Vegsarkar down, it is you who will be seen as a fool. Probably you dont know about Vengsarkar. He is one of the stylish cricketers who mastered one day cricket for India. He was the first person to score One day century for India. He is the guy who made 3 consecutive centuries at Lords which is a record. He is now the person, who believes in non-zonal based pure merit based selection for Indian team. He was the person who unlike his colleagues spent all his money for cricket academy to make the young cricketers free of cost. For India, he scored max centuries (6) against mighty west indies having the likes of Marshall, after Gavaskar. Better you need to know before making statements.

And forgot to mention - All his test centuries were match-winning or match-saving ones just as they were with Great Vishy and Ganguly - Unlike Gavaskar & Tendulkar

Agreed Vengsarkar was a former great,but just cant why have showered so much praise for Ganguly in Test cricket.He has an average of 41 after 95 matches.Among the 30 matches that were won, he had scored only 3 cemturies ,and out of those three centuries,two came against Zimbabwe!Of the 14 away test matches won,he had scored 2 centuries,one being against Zimbabwe. Among the 30 lost test matches,he couldnt score any century at all. Comparing him to Great Vishy is bit premature and hopefully he will come up with some stunning performance of his own. In ODis ,he is ofcourse on a different plane and was one of the best.

Dont even suggest...as it is oldies VVS Laxman,Ganguly,Agarkar etc r taking the place of upcoming youngsters...
