First test
by Parag Hede on Jul 18, 2007 09:50 PM

India has the best chance to win the first test in England, but, the same can't be said about the other tests. This is because our team has a tendency to relax at the latter stages which allow the opposition to bounce back.

India went to the WC2007 as a fancied team to reach at least the Semis and what happened? We lost to the minnows!
Sidebottom is fresh after cleaning up the WIndies and he'll be enough for us with help from Broad (who troubled us on a placid pitch) and Monty (the Punjab lion in the English den).
By the way, who will we leave out? Laxman/Sourav/Yuvraj/Jaffar?
It's a chance for Vaughan, Strauss, Cook, Bell and Collingwood to make some runs against RP Singh and Sreesanth (noballers of the series?). Again we'll depend on the old war-horse Kumble and the flogging horse Zaheer!
Good luck India!

yes, definitely. although the English bowling is weak, their batsmen are in form, n our bowling is also inexperienced. At the most, India can dream of getting a draw, as v cant take 20 wickets and same with the Eng.bowlers and the result - boring game of cricket.

Thanks MT! I forgot the inimitable KP, didn't I? He can be more than a rampaging Sachin on his day. Well, we can still win if we keep our heads down and play according to the conditions and situations. Everyone can play for themselves and the team: if each batter gets 40 runs and bowlers get 100 runs together we have already crossed 300! However, our guys get out cheaply trying to do the greatest British pastime, "fishing" outside the off stump :-)

great opportunity for tendlya
by pradip sawant on Jul 18, 2007 08:10 PM

why you people are after TENDULKER.There are other 10 players in the team who fail against weak and good bowling. Tendulker had already shown his greatness to the world. He is a legendery batsmen.Except Indians all other are praising for his batting.

Sachin has supposedly developed a weakness against left arm spinners of even teams like Bangla; novice like Piyush Chawla (not to belittle his performance) can trouble him. And here he has to face Monty.

The same team could not dismiss ..some county team ..the last pair batted for 10 overs and dragged it to a draw .....confidence down hai .if they win it will be a huge lottery for india ..and am sure if they win they will lose the next one to even the series ...they have been doing that for atleast 10 series now
