dravid sucks
by Rahul nanda on Jul 19, 2007 12:00 PM  | Hide replies

On one hand he says India inexperience bowling attack is a problem and on the other referring to the batting he says experience doesn%u2019t count for much. Dravid always makes sure he is politically correct. How can this guy motivate youngsters by his bull shit.

He is picking Dhoni as a batsman/wicketkeeper instead of Yuvraj. Dravid says Dhoni has done nothing wrong apart from not performing outside the subcontinent. Well what has Yuvraj done wrong? If we are playing Karthik as opener who wont get more then 50 whycant he keep wickets.
India have a option
Karthik Opener/Wicketkeeper then We have to make a choice.
Yuvraj or Dhoni..Clearly Yuvraj wins that battle.

Or Play Dravid as a opener & play both yuvraj and Dhoni
The point here is Dravid is politically motivated.
He wants to highlight its not Yuvraj vs Dhoni but its Ganguly vs Yuvraj.

By making it Yuvraj vs Ganguly he can get rid of Ganguly or keep Yuvraj waiting as he is the main threat tohis captaincy.
Remember Yuvraj lost his vice captaincy to Dhoni and our great leader did not stand up for Yuvraj.

Dravid sucks and that%u2019s the reason India will not win and should not win.

Shirt nikalo body dikao.. ( Salman has body built to show atleast what this gangu has?)
and tell bong photographer to shoot it.

Is it all aggression?

Yet to see Gangu taking on main bowler. And clearing fear of juniors. Instead seeing him playing short pitched delivery they fear that they can not play such stuff.

Tendulkar - as selfish as ever !
by sssss rrrrrr on Jul 18, 2007 06:29 PM

Tendulkar keeps shooting himself in the foot ! Even as Dravid says that his (Dravid's) performance is directed towads victory - personal milestones are incidental, Tendulkar is crying out from the rooftops as to how he wants to get his personal milestone of getting a hundred at Lords ! That's right Sachin , you keep putting your foot in your mouth, so that everybody recognizes you for what you really are : a great entertainer but not a match-winner , especially not when it really matters...

Is He Serious?
by Rahul Sajnani on Jul 18, 2007 05:10 PM  | Hide replies

Dear Friends,

I have been reading some of the messages which have been posted by you'll in the context of the above article.
Guys I do not think we should be taking our captain's comment seriously. Who knows it might be a tactic afterall.
After the dismal performance by our bowlers in the practice matches, it surely does not need any comment.
However by saying this, a feeling could go into the opposition camp, that probably we have no clue of what combination with which we might go in into the Lord's Test and also probably to make the English Batsmen a little complacent.

No fool would ever demean and demoralise his own comrades just for the sake of it.
C'mon guys just see the positive side of it.

Forget all shit! Just concentrate on Game. Now less than 24 hours to go for Lords Test DRAVID should boost morale of TEAM INDIA players by encouraging them rather than giving such irresponsible comments at this moment!

Difference between Dravid and Ganguly
by hool on Jul 18, 2007 04:55 PM  | Hide replies

That is the difference between Ganguly and Dravid.Dravid says inexperience bowling worries before start the serease but Ganguly would not tell anything at that moment and inspire the inexperience bowling attack.

RE:Difference between Dravid and Ganguly

Mr. Hool,

I do not think we should start comparing captaincy skills of Ganguly & Dravid just as yet.
While records definitely suggest that Ganguly has been the most successful captain of India, if we take out his wins against minnows, then even Md. Azhar gets ahead of him.
During his tenure he heavily depended on his batsmen to bail him out rather than actually motivating his bowlers to bowl properly.
All of his highlight wins have come due to performance of his batsmen after the bowlers were belted all over the park:

Kolkata 2001- Laxman & Dravid
Natwest Final- Yuvraj & Kaif
Australia 2004- Dravid & Laxman
Pakistan 2004- Sachin, Dravid & Sehwag

Also the series in Aus was a draw who were without their strike bowlers, while the series in Pak had a test in which Dravid was captain.

Also during Ganguly's tenure everyone feared him because of a certain Mr. Dalmiya. Dravid has no such godfather.

Agreed Dravid has a lot to prove but still I believe that he is capable of it. He does not show any fake aggressiveness like opting out of a match at Nagpur against the Aussies after seeing a green-top.

So well agressiveness is all in the mind and just pulling out your shirt does not prove you are a great captain.

Cheers

good comments. Forget about being the most sucessfull captain. Gaguly's captaincy record is worse than Dravids after the same amount of tests/ODI were played. So let us not harp on the intangibles; like Ganguly motivating indivduals, Dravid being a chicken, ganguly keeping opposing captains waiting, taking his shirt off, and all that bull... The fact is that if Ganguly was motivating his players then his record should be better than Dravids. Cricket strategies, personal performance will get more results in the long run than being a lion and all the other intagibles... By the time Dravid's stint is over as a captain, he will be the most sucessfull captain and cricketer India has seen.

Ganguly in his 1st few assignmnts as a 'would be' long term captain, beat the then formidable SA 3-2 in ODI series, reached the final of Champs Trophy in Kenya, beat all conquering aussies 2-1. dravid is not a leader, but yes the best defensive batsman in world. leaders are born...like pataudi, imran, taylor, waugh, ganguly....

Even Imran Khan, and Waugh sain in a interview that Dravid is better captian than Ganguly.Imran said on NDTV that aggresion is not only facial expression and also Gangulys team won in ENG,AUS and PAK bcoz of world class performance from Dravid. And also Dravid is leading from front not like Ganguly who kept outside himeself after seeing Green top in Nagpur test.
