COACHING FORMAT
by Mihirkanti Choudhury on Jul 17, 2007 10:48 PM

from Sylhet, Bangladesh
Format of Cricket coaching for international cricket should be devised by the ICC in association of the member countries. Ten Test playing countries have ten coaches. But some of the coaching concepts sound odd. For instance, Geoff Lawson will be advising Injamamul Haque or Mohammed Yusuf how to bat, Greg Chappel used to advise Indian bowlers how to bowl and so on. This is ridiculous. To meet the real necessity, there should be One Director of Coaching and three Deputy coaches to supervise three departments -- batting, bowling and fielding. The director of Coaching should be a versatile cricket genius who would control three Deputies who in turn should be accountable to him and the Director of Coaching should be accountable to the Board.

I am a Hindu. However, I strongly condemn this hatred against muslims. You cannot just demean the whole community for the sake of a few. Our outgoing President and the chief architect of the Indian Nuclear Program Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam is a muslim.. So was Abdul Hamid (who won the Param Vir Chakra for laying down his life in 1965 war against Pakistan).
While you spit so much venom against them, some of our HINDU politicians who are acting a ISI agents dont even find a mention in u'r hatelist.
Even those HINDU politicians who had their share of commission when substandard coffins were to be provided for the martyrs of Kargil enjoy your respect.

Yes ISLAM is against Patriotism. there is no doubt about it but do you know it is against this concept? well! Why should do we love the country ? We should love the country because we born in this Holy Land. Right? It is our duty to love our country since we taken birth here. And we should also love our Mother because she had given birth to us. Same way we love more to Allah who not only created this Holy Land but also to our Mother & Your mother too, thus it is logically correct to love more to the creator.
Islam is not against the country but the fake preacher and Idiol worship, corruption, voilence, Riot etc etc. How do you see if a person take bribe and who is utmost corrupt? is he a Patriot or criminal? I just fail to understand how come one will become more patriotic if s/he sing vande mataram? what if we sing Sara jahan se accha hindustan humara? are we become patriotic only by singing vande mataram? then all the corrupt people love to sing these cummunal song to become patriotic in the sight of "idiots" like you.

Do India and Pakistan Cricketers need Coaches?
by Ramesh Kapoor on Jul 17, 2007 07:23 PM  | Hide replies

With the way events have shown, do Indian and Pakistani cricket players need coaches? All players are coaches by divine right, and they are bigger than the shoes they wear. It is unfortunate that coaches hardly survive and go with good records. The present Indian squad is touring England without a coach, barring a bowling coach and a fielding coach. The bowlers failed in the first two trial matches, and fielding was hardly to be commended with County sides scoring at will. Would Greg Chappel or John Wright come up with solutions? The answer is zilch. The problem is in selection of the team and the selectors have shown their bias. The rest will be history. Enjoy the tours!

Kapoor what i think is that for india pakistan foriegn coaches are better coz bias is to a lesser extent when they are around! In Wrights era india performed quiet well,in Wolmer era pakistan [erformed well until the world cup, where they lost to minnows. What we need is overhauling of the system, and no ones gonna do it,india being big and diverse has probs abt south north and pakistan has the same but the grass root level is bad. Wasim came to bowl in nets to the team goin to newzealand LOL and was picked by Javed and later nurtered by imran, Waqar as well came in nets where imran picked him!the present captain is a frnd of my frnd, belongs to sialkot, and u wont believe he used to get spikes(shoes) from my frnd to play in matches!such is the level, money all the big shots are using but the flow towards the betterment of emerging players is a no no!! In these situations now who ever plays think play for a year or so make some money and start ur business LOL, now days of alal amarnath Javeds and imrans the gavaskars and kapils are long gone!cricket then was passion, the country, and its now just money!they are professionals, they take money for their performances!
Javed Intikhab and Zaheer's comments about Lawson i guess are immature, they are all big shots in cricket, but they should support him. If given an independent hand,i am sure he can stand the team at any moment against aussies! same is for india if coach is given full rights he will pick the best team!!!but u know politics

Please for heaven's sake stop this low level exchanges. 60 years nearly passed but we still behave like the way the British left us & wanted us to.
Both countries have their issues & both cricket teams have their share of woes.
We have more in common than differences. Please realise & dont become alaughing stock in front of the western world.
