During the 2005 Ashes series played in England, the matches were telecast on Channel 4. During the pre-match talk, Mark Nicholas, the host, asked Graham Gooch, what he think about players like Vikram Solanki, Kabir Ali and likes.
Graham got so angry and he said, 'we don't need these players in the team. What we need is a bunch of good ENGLISH players. We need to idenitify and select good English players, put them in an academy and then select the best to play for England'.
Mark Nicolas did not know what to say at that point and all this was live on air. He said, lets take a break now and went off air.
This only goes to show how much do these English people respect and like the British Asian players.
A team is regarded good when it has blend of strong mature heads and fresh energy around. Thats how successful teams build up. Thus I am sure this England tour our team India shall beat england in their own backyard and send a message that wins over South Africa were not fluke. The seniors will surely come to the party with many fresh faces supporting them. So lets get ready to support our team all out and not pull them down if they fail because it is going to be cricket the ultimate winner.
