Indian Cricket League
by Andrews John on Jul 26, 2007 02:24 PM

The idea of an Indian Cricket League to develop local talent and domestic sporting industry in general is excellent. It would be gr8 if the ICL manage to keep the focus of commercial sponsors on domestic games played in India. However at the moment the approach that Zee's ICL seems to be taking by signing on large numbers of internatioanl players rather than keeping focus on grassroot level players seems to be the wrong way to go. It would be akin to building another BCCI clone (banking on international stars) and would not help Indian domestic talent.

BCCI is political party
by S Narain on Jul 12, 2007 12:12 PM

Like a political party , BCCI wants everyone to toe the line. As if it is Pawars personal property.
Kapil Dev is a great star of India & has brought laurel to the country.
Indians should hang their head in shame ,if they do not respect ,Kapil ,who has played his heart out for the country
& brought the laurel for the country,by
I have my fondest memory of his exploits as cricketer.
BCCI guys are scoundrels ,they would always care about their power ,money etc first ,than about the good of cricket.

He served for our country, Did what he can, acheived many. Now he wants to earn money. Whats wrong in it. If you get a chance to earn money. Wont you earn. Will you do free service for India. Why are you guys after cricketers money all the time. Why are you all jealous all the time. You can be one of the 11 members in team and earn as much as you can. Who cares. How can BCCI say they wont pay pension? its really stupid. Are you their slave to do whatever they want till you die if you are getting their pension. You are getting pension only coz you served for the country and made revenue for the BCCI. When Sharad pawar can be in two post why not kapil who has served the country for 15 years unlike sharad pawar

when bcci is opposing ICL, than how the players in particual indian players will be able to play for ICL, so in that case how ICL can groom young cricketers. really in confused state, bcci even not allow any indian cricketers to play for ICL, so than keeping whom they will organise matchs.

Yes. even I am surprised. If BCCI and all its state allies who owns all the stadiums, does not co-operate where they (ICL) new teams play the matches? I am confused, what's gonna happen

1 billion Indians
by ratnesh srivastav on Jul 11, 2007 04:25 PM  | Hide replies

1 billion Indians are with Kapil Bhai. BCCI has done enough damage to indian cricket as seen in the recent world cup or even on the coach issue. The BCCI is concerned only about revenues and not players. The selection system stinks.

It is high time that ICL came up. Kapil paji is correct and all of cricket Indians are with him. BCCI should atleast come to reality rather than bothering Kapil Dev (Who is the best cricketer India has ever produced).

I don't think BCCI is bothering Kapil. If BCCI removes Kapil from NCA he should not be bothered.Instead he is fighting with BCCI about how can they remove him.
Iam not a supporter of BCCI, but I feel Kapil. Kapil should not be concerned about this instead he is going on fighting with BCCI.He should have said that he is resigning and not with BCCI that's the end of the story why is he creating unnecessary controversy.

Kapil.......
by Kart on Jul 11, 2007 04:18 PM  | Hide replies

I think kapil should resign from NCA as he is more interested working for ICL. Let him give advice to the players who play for ICL.
Why BCCI is against Kapil becoz he might brainwash youngsters mind and ask them to join ICL.The Indian team will loose talented players due to this.

agarkar-the best all rounder- he only knows who to wander around the ground and ofcourse when he bowl the ball goes all round the park.... BCCI is politising Indian cricket, which is very bad. Kapil is doing the right thing by fighting against them. even though BCCI generates revenue from ppl like us who watch cricket, we dont have any say in whatever they do. We are made dump and seen as a crap.

BCCI Vs ICL
by on Jul 11, 2007 03:57 PM  | Hide replies

It is sad all of you discussing an non issue. After all the problem lies in money and only money. BCCI is also a private company, as it was in news earlier. It is not part of any sports authority of India. So what is the problem in having ICL as a competiter.Tomorrow ICL may be a better governing body than BCCI. This monopoly should stop.Whether it is Kapil or somebody else, it should not make any difference. Atleast players making into ICL will be benefitted.
