Historic fault line

The story reads very much similar to that of V.V.S.Laxman.So this is a kind of historic fault line that is eclipsing Hyderabad cricketers forever.Who is the culprit, then? One more thing you should have added VVS laxman's name also to the list of artists. Why only Azharuddin. It seems Mr.Pandya you are also a bit biased.

I have the fortune of watching Jaisimha play at his peak. He was a happy-go-lucky person and his style of play reflected his persona. With neatly creased dress and a silk scarf, he was a fashion statement by himself. He was handsome, smart, cherming and elegant and thus no doubt, a perfect ladies' man. There has not been anyone like Jaisimha in Indian cricket.

A charismatic personality

I never saw Mr.M.L in action on a cricket field , but had the good fortune of seeing him on TV as a commentator, and hearing his views of the game.It was a pleasure to hear him talk and express the finer nuances of the game. Always articulate and well aware of the situation, his comments were worth hearing.

After going thru the article ,i have got a better understanding of him as a player. It is a pity that his fullpotential was never realised.

Any way , thanks Mr.M.L, for giving us wonderful memories , especially for me ( as a commentator ).

It is indeed true that players and persons like him can never go out of peoples memory.

One Record that Jaisimha holds in Test Cricket to date is that he played on all 5 Days of a
Test Match!! I think it was against Australia or England in Calcutta to force a Draw!! He scored 74 spanning over the third evening to fifth Morning!!! Statisticians,Pl.Confirm

As a school boy I used to watch him playing cricket. On the field he was a swash-buckler and off the field he was a gentle and a smart man. The only regret I used to have about this gentle lanky was that he was serving a cigarette company - Wazir Sultan Tobacco! With the passing away of Dilip Sardesai, this week, one of the star opening duo of Indian cricket remain a chrished memory!

I have watched Jai in action, and would travel hundreds of miles to watch him play for Hyderabad and the South Zone. Just as I would later to watch Vishy! Thanks, Rediff

I too watched him play esp. the Moin-ud-Dowla tournament. He had clss and was in good company of Tiger Pataudi. I met him about 10 years ago at Hyderabad airport and as usual he was charming and very gracious. They belonged to a different class of "Gentleman" cricketers - perhaps only Tendulkar comes close to them.

M.L. Jaisimha and his ilk are now a lost tribe for Indian sports not just cricket. It is now time for the loud and boorish, hopelessly self centered and ever-willing-to-serve-time fools.
