whatever happened to all that promise from BCCI about hiring "professional" selectors and administrators rather than honorary politicians? Mr. Bedi was correct, if BCCI officers are not professional then how can players be one? Ridiculous man...they should run this thing as one runs a company or organisation...i think then only we can hope for some serious competition from team india
It seems like it is the norm or fad to wear different hats nowadays. Vengsarkar is India's main and as well as MCA selector. How can he be impartial and not favor Mumbai players? Sharad Pawar is already a minister and amazes me how he can function as BCCI chief and less said about Gavaskar the better. Is it any wonder the team selection and coach appointment are in shambles?

Vengsarkar so far showed how frank and straight he is in the selection. He didnt pick any Mumbai player for wrong reasons. And he is the major one who fought against demolishing the zonal quota to get the talent from anywhere. In fact he accepted the post on that condition. He is frank and honest and talks straight. Let us hope there will be a good future for Indian team provided he gets free hand from Powar
