RE:DRAVID- BIG FAKE
by Sreenath Reddy on Jul 04, 2007 10:54 AM
True.. I agree with what you wrote. Point is not who is good batsman? Dravid is definitely better batsman in the current team. BUt definitely not hte good captain.

When Ganguly find a place in team, I think he is the best person to lead the team. If he donot have place, yes you can make Dravid or somebody else as captian.

This is all BCCI politics. Cricket in India is loosing the charm that Kapil Devils brought with the world cup

Thats right..ajay jadeja has said this thing so many time.....if Ganguly is good enough to find a place in the team he should be the Captain...
We should get the best person to lead.
Dravid knows this very well ..dravid is too insecure to come out in open and give up captaincy.

If not Ganguly then atleast Yuvraj so we are grooming someone for the future while Sachin,Ganguly and Dravid...support Yuvraj.

But Dravid is not good enough for present scenario neither for the future.

You are right.Ganguly was a shrewd and bold captain . He could also motivate youngsters like Yuvraj, Harbhajanand Kaif. Under his captaincy they gave their best. Who could forget the performance of these three in the Natwest Trophy which India won while chasing 322run? Now two of them are languishing. After Chappel became the coach he changed the batting orders so much that it unsettled the players and the result culminated in the worst ever WC performance. The worst sufferer was Sachin. IN 1996 and 2003 (to some extent in 1999) WCs he was a success because he played as an opener. Dravid was also responsible to the individual and team failures because he was not an assertive captain like Ganguly. He need not have to listen to whatever the coach had to say. As a captain he had every right to decide the batting positions. Anyhow, let us forget the WC 2007 as a bad dream and hope our team and captain will learn from their past mistakes and play better cricket in future.

If BCCI do not want any body and want to throw dravid they could make Karthik captain....if they want the same money in future...or BCCI & Indian Cricket will be remembered as one time gigantic fossils...

They should appoint Ganguly captain for next one year....should make Yuvraj or Karthik vice captain...so they'll get a chance to learn under him to track big guns Australia & SA...
Its rubbish to continue with darvid as he is going to loose all to england the most prospective team now...

Also BCCI should give opportunity to Laxman, Kaif & Pathan to come back...they are the most talented 3 players, never been a regular...

Also india should intake Subrahmanyam Badrinath, the most promising new unsung batsman...also bowler yo mahesh..

time to throw out oldie agarkar & dravid from one day team...

India can also go for rotation policy like the Aussies atleast in the ODIs. Yuvraj can be made captain for the ODIs. He is intelligent and bold and is not afraid to take the risks. The three senior players can be included in the team by rotation,(two or one can play at a time) so that one of them will always be there to guide Yuvi and the team.It is high time players like S.Badrinath, Sharad and Tiwari be included in the team.Irfan, Munaf and Kaif should also be allowed to comeback because they are young and our future depends on the youngsters.

Thank you rain gods...
by Rahul Kulkarni on Jul 04, 2007 06:41 AM  | Hide replies

Like to extend my thanks to the rain gods that they decided to intervene and caused the match to be abandoned. Even the rain gods are sick and tired of two World Cup first round losers to minnows like Bangladesh and Ireland play a cricket match in a cricket alien country with predictable rain forecast.
I hope the early exit of India and Pakistan in the World Cup helps in rise of some other sports in these two countries where sports means only cricket.

ya i checked the matches which ur team has won and found that most of the matches were played in sharjah where the umpires were ready to raise their fingers up whenever a paki rookie screamed and yelled for nothing..Remember the worst decisions handed out for the hatrick of Aquib..Also dont check past record..the present indian team can bundle out ur team in no time

Match was scheduled months in advance. This was not a galli-level match as you tend to think and when they schedule it, no one can predict the weather on the day of the match and in British Isles, the weather is extremely unpredictable. So, it was not crap.
