More - We need less of More
by Govind Raj on Jan 30, 2007 09:40 PM

Dear Mr. More, Must I remind you and Indians that you were responsible for the First Ever Triple Century scored against India. You dropped a dolly from Gooch [37] and he went on to score 333. The costliest catch ever dropped.
Also your inability to score those 8 runs against Australia cost us the World Cup 1992.
You were all vitriol against Ganguly, whose credentials need no certificate from you.
You did not set off any revolution. It was a natural phenomenon. You wanted to rout Dada and hence gave chances to all the youngsters on the block. Today Dada is back to where he belongs; The Top.
We the Indians need Less and Less of You Mr. More and No More of your stupidity.
Kindly go back to your academy and never come back.
But I have a wonderful suggestion for you. Why not join Sharad Pawar's NCP and be the President of it's Gujarath Unit.
You are More suited for Politics Mr. More
Good Luck and leave Cricket Alone!

Shame on me!!! My posti9ngs have been reoted for abuse!!! Amending what I said.
Man, Gangulys appear in this world very rare.
Look at the face, look at the grace, and look at the emotions.
Look at his pleasures, look at his pains, and look at the man who is a commander.
Look at him who rescued Indian cricket from the bookies.

Look at the man who charged the averages and ordinaries in to performers.

You guys put pedestrians and soldiers ahead of the leader!

Embrace the Spirited Selector ex-picker-of-the-ball-behind-the-stumps forever.
Allow him with his Monalisa-like-smile near the dressing room or anywhere.
He has not done any damage.

Discard the Jumping Buffoon ex-picker-of-the-ball-behind-the-stumps forever. Do not allow him with his goat-like-smile near the dressing room or anywhere.
He has done enough damage.

A bullshit man and a comic Drakula
by Indra Sengupta on Jan 30, 2007 12:25 PM  | Hide replies

Yes.
I still remember when this ex-selector used to jump like a tennis ball behind the wicket and occasionally picked up the balls.
A very average player, he remained in the team alongwith comtemporary greats.
This chap developed a goat-like smile when he was made the selector and directly conspired to remove the Greatest of Indian captains from captaincy and from the game altogether.
Just remember his comments those days against Saurav as if he was a persona no grata.
Why this man is being listened to?
Why rediff is giving him any importance?
He will only be remembered for the wrong reason
along with Drakula Grandpa of Indian cricket Raj Dung.

More, Saurav, Sehwag are travellers of same boat.

Mind that while one should admit that Saurav has done a lot for Indian cricket, one should also realize that he was not thrown out because only because he was not playing well. Especially Kolkatta people should realize it. He was thrown beause of his behaviour and so Sehwag. One should keep his head down while he is not performing. Tendulkar has that attitude. THat is why he is different from others.

All these More's Sehwag's and Ganguly's feel at one time that because of them, everything is happening in Indian Cricket, and then they make absurd comments, behave rudely and that is the time they are thrown out. Everything happens for good and we do have experts in the committees those are capable of thinking all factors unlike common public who just let their bias prevail over the reality.

So, according to you, behaviour is the most important criterion for selecting players. Then get some docile cows for Indian team instead of plyers who have above 10000 runs in ODIs.

I am sure he has a point when he said that behaviour is important. Ofcourse we need big scrorers and match winners but at the same time time they should also have an good attitude, not arrogance. One can feel proud of his achievements but should not feel arrogant. Sourav showed a bit of that and was rightly pulled up. But yes, More is certainly not capable of being a selector. He did not behave gracefully.

And Tendulkar is not a cow. He is graceful and yet fiercely competitive. We need people like him.

Ganguly a great batsman - in what respect? The only two great innings that he played are his debut against england and the 140 odd against australia in adelaide.

The jumping jack has started on with his usual tricks - now he has started by putting his foot in his mouth with his utterings. The only difference now is that no one really takes him seriously.

Bad form is a bad logic.
Saurav was dropped for double standards of selectors.
Same offence, they continue with other player but drops the winning captain.
Saurav hails from Eastern part of the country. It may be the cause of the discrimination.
