Rajendra Bongale
Tendulkar
by Rajendra Bongale on Jan 21, 2007 12:05 PM

He is just a history now.He is passenger. He is there in the team just on past performance. He refused to play in Ranji trophy match by giving false reson of injury. If past performance is the crieteria, then Vishwantha,Gavaskar,Shastri Kapil all should be there in the team.Tendulkar will not win World cup for us but instead he will be a passenger in West Indies tour.

K ram, have some faith. They have a chance. I world cricket there isn't many cricket playing nations. India will make the semi-finals but can they go all the way. They always tend to choke in big matches.

1.Ganguly
2.Sehwag
3.Tendulker
4.Kaif/dhoni
5.Dravid
6.Yovraj
7.Dhoni
8.Irfan
9.singh
10.z aheer
11.sreesanth/another spinner

India will need to chose a playing 11 right now. Irfan and ganguly will help India win.

it is one of the best ideas
by S. Mohapatra on Jan 21, 2007 08:58 AM

Sachin should come in the 4th down. This idea tinkered Dravidji's mind very late. It sjould be applied during last WI tour. Our lost hope on the Opening pair accumulating some belief on souravji. I think this combination will work well as DADA learnt to play shots onside. Hope this experiment yield a good result in INDIA.

harikaran sivakumar
World Cup winning leven
by harikaran sivakumar on Jan 21, 2007 08:38 AM

Hi Friends,
Though I don have much international Cricket knowledge, I can tell this by analyzing some results in the past. As for as my concern, If the following leven is possible, India will be in World Cup final.

Sehwag / Ganguly
Sachin
YuvrajSingh
Dravid
Dinesh Karthick / Raina
MSDhoni
Irfan Pathan / Joginder Sharma
Romesh Powar / Harbajan Singh
Anil Lumble
Zaheer Khan / Munaf Patel
Sreesanth

I guess it will be the best ever ODI leven India can ever produce for WestIndies pitches. Sachin performed extremely well in last world cup after his continues fails in NewZeland series.

West Indies pitches are almost like South African pitches. Moreover, Sachin will get more mental power and attention when he plays in World Cup. (Nearly 2000 runs in 4 world cups)
So, we need to keep him in top order to extract more juice from his batting. Also, the above said leven has 7 bowlers (including 5 specialist bowlers) and 2 specialist wicket keepers who can keep the field as well.

And each mentioned player has their own specialist fielding area as well. Go ahead with this leven and win the World Cup Final.

Please let me know if anything false in it.

Golden rules - How to improve performance
by Sansary Molly on Jan 21, 2007 07:59 AM

Don't allow any plater to sign up for advertisement contracts.
Pay them based on performance.
Do not shuffle batting order
Let the batsmen focus on batting and bowlers on bowling instead of thinking of making a bowler and all rounder and a batsmen a bowler.
Chappel should not be the coach. [First time I am seeing a coach de-motivating a team]
Player should no their role properly and planning should be done based on oppositions strength and weaknesses.

It's a mistake putting tendulker at the middle order. they should stop changing orders and start playing their best playing 11.

ganguly and sehwag should open with tendulker following.

K Ram
RE:shah khan has the answer
by K Ram on Jan 21, 2007 07:28 AM
The India Vs West Indies series starts from today on the much familiar, dull, dead, flat Indian pitches where even the less than ordinary batsmen too can give an impression like they're world beaters. Scoring in bulk is not a problem here. Especially the top five batsmen have the luxury of taking time and leave some dot balls without scoring to build their innings. The much tried and repeated failures like Gautam Gambhirs must thank their lucky stars for getting such opportunity in a platter. If performance in this series is considered as a yardstick for the selection of final 15 for the world cup, alas! may God save our team...

We missed out lots of opportunities in moulding our team for the world cup, giving unfair amount of chances to some pathetically out of form and ageing cricketers. We must have zeroed in on the final 15 or 16 players long before; given them enough exposure and match practise; weeded the flaws, exposed them to situations so that they're ready for the task ahead. Whereas, the picture is still hazy when it comes to the final team.

Is Romesh Pawar a match winner to deserve a place in the team? Wasn't the paper tiger Raina who scores in bulk in India and nothing abroad found wanting already when playing in overseas pitches? Now that the Colonel is in the helm of affairs, we'll see more cricketers from the western region earning or holding their undeserved places in the team making it very difficult for others to gain an entry.

Even in my wildest imagination, I don't foresee India entering semifinals. But, miracles do happen. Only a miracle can save the team from humiliation!

This will work well !
by ameet mali on Jan 21, 2007 03:02 AM

Ganguli and gambhir opening,Utthappa would have a little better being a RH batsman, but this is fine. And sachin, his mind is his enemy, soltion is "NO MIND".Nothing can affect his batting other than his own mindset. In the middle order he will get more time to see and play the ball, perfect thing for an ageing batsman.People talk about Inzmam, jaysuriya and Lara playing great inspite of their age. Here is the reason, they play in the middle order.Less pressure, more time and u have a situation to work with.So this can prove good for sachin and team INDIA.WC is approaching INDIAN MEDIA and PEOPLE should stop talking negative about the players and the team.Lets get the Positive wave going and support OUR TEAM INDIA, we can analyse/criticise them after results are out.Amit Mali
