Selection of Ganguly is a poor decision when so many other players deserve a good look. Irfan Pathan's performance with the bat was very inspiring in S africa. So also Dinesh Mongia needs another good look. His performance in English county league and the innings against australia was very good. Its surprising VVS Laxman doesnt deserve a place in the side. Its sad that selectors have given in to political pressure in selecting Ganguly.

i really dont understand why people are so much against him, now atleast he is playing very nicely so he should definitely be in the team plus his never say die attitude. he is one person who can stand against the australians , south africans

Dear, subro when whole india welcomes ganguly and pleased with his perfomancea and you are the only one guy who is speaking -ve. More over VVS Laxman is highly technical player when compared to sehwag, dhoni, dinesh mongia. He is aptly suitable on fast pitches like WI. So dont come to a wrong decission.

Have you any knowledge about cricket? Better you play "Ludo". Dont try to talk about Sourav.

Lets do one thing. Drop Sourav, Sachin, Dravid, Sehwag and all the senior players and take Dinesh Mongia, Pathan, Suresh Raina and above all, make you the coach cum chairman of the selection committe ... ahh, what a deadly combination and India is surely going to win the world cup in 3007 (not 2007). Last but not the least, how come such stupid ideas come in your mind?

Mr. Subroto Ray, Your comments of dropping Ganguly from world cup squad defies logic. It seems either you have no knowledge about the game of cricket or you have some personal disliking for Ganguly. After Sourav Ganguly was the highest run scorer for Indian team in South Africa and possibly the best left hander India has produced and world knows how much Sourav deserves to be in the team. You are not competent enough or knowledgeable enough to make statements about dropping Ganguly. Better keep quiet.

What I mean is Mr Manoj Nag is 100% correct and not Mr. Subroto Ray. Ganguly should be in the team for world cup. It is betterto remove captaincy from Rahul.

Sorry Dude...Dada had always been inspiring, he deserves the chance, My bet Dada is gonna be the best performer in the coming one dayers and World cup. Rather the present team is best bet, with the inclusion of Irfaan and exclusion of Laxman. But Data has to be there, "Apni Dada ki baat suno bhai" - The aggressive captian that India ever had.
Venkatesh Prasad was a nice bowler but not the best. Even God cannot save Indian team when Hero Worship is there., like Sachin, Dravid , Sewag so on. Remove all old players and bring talentd young ones

Talanted????? Are there any?? Whoever we try show promise then fades away the second season as soon as he is made a hero by media. Hope at least someone can cope with the star status..

Dear Charles, I agree to the fact that we have to bring up new talents, there should be a change, but not at this time.. Rather an appropriate mix of experience with new talents could do a lot for the team.. Prasad had coached under-19 team that won the world cup.. he may not be that good bowler, but a coach job is not just enhancing bowling but to be a team falicitator.. He generates agreesiveness and patience at appropriate moment.. which cud prove better for the team...so he could prove a good bowling coach.
He should not be malignated by the readers like this.He always performed against PAKISTAN...WHEN IT MATTERED MOST...and when india can bear the burden of Agarkar why is prasad being treated so badly....
RE:Prasad deserves more respect...
by Dipanjan Ray on Jan 15, 2007 08:52 PM
I do agree with you. Prasad definitely was not the best of Indian bowlers but he was a good opening partner with Sreenath. To add to this, his performance against Pakistan had always been noteworthy, just like Aaqib Javed and Azhar Mahmood used to perform only against India
parsad was a dirty bowler and everyone used to hit him hard he used to get lickely wickets and he should not interfer in the indian team and its ours deicision to select player for WC2007

Sweetheart, Bowling slow delivery is an art for a fast bowler. Better you poke your nose in cricket.
Mr.Bhaskar.. its insane that some just post reviews just for the heck of it.. The above statement is not something which Prasad says but in general was referred by the reporter. Moreover for what Prasad has done for INDIA , so be it if he';s been thrashed by a few batsmen he's atleast given his best with no proper coaches, physios and atleast wasn't sent back to rectify his action.. !!
