Reg : Ganguly back to indian team
by chandra prabhu on Jan 17, 2007 02:17 PM

Definitely, it is good time to india if ganguly is on team 11, and the india is going to receive the cup%u2019s consecutively. My best wishes to Mr. Ganguly. He wants to justify the situation, when he is getting back in Indian team. All the best to upcoming series.

The Terminator is back, and its judgement day for the other teams in the world cup. Ganguly has to blast along with Sachin and Dhoni. DEFINITELY NOT DRAVID. He will definitely flop. I like dravid a lot as a batsman but he has sown his real bunny like character once he became a captain. A REAL BUNNY !!!!

It is a very good decision that Mr.Vengsarkar & team took to call back Ganguly in ODI, after his good show in the just concluded Test series in SA.

When the youngsters are not performing well, we got to depend on our seasoned players like Tendulkar, Ganguly, Dravid & Laxman.

MY BEST WISHESTO GANGULY & INDIA FOR THE FORTHCOMING SERIES AGAINST WI & SL, AND THEN THE WORLD CRICKET.

FRANCIS LOUIS, KOLKATA.

I wish all the best to the former and most successful captain of India. From my point he is the best for Indian team, and if India wants to at least qualify for the quarter finals or semi finals then Saurav Ganguly should be the captain of Indian team. I think Rahul Dravid needs to take rest for at least 1 year. Rahul should be dropped from the world cup team and no doubt that Sachin Tendulkar should announce his retirement before the world cup. I do not know why the selectors are carrying such a heavy load that is of no use to demolish the reputation of the country and the shameless defeats that we are facing. From my point only Kapil Dev should be the main selector for the world cup team and moreover Rahuld Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, and Virendra Sehwag deserve no place at all in the Indian Cricket Team. Kapil Dev should select the 14 and Ganguly should select the playing 11.
Thanks

I don't think India will all of the games even though they should. Hopefully they don't choke.
They really need to have more top order batsman. Tendulker, dravid and ganguly have had their chances but they can't play big matches, specially tendulker, he hasn't won many important matches for India like ponting or inzamam-ul-huq. Why is not pathan not in the team

We have seen the result of the experiments carried out by CHAPAL's ( i.e Greg Chappel )TEAM INDIA and also seen the performance of youngsters like - Venugopal Rao, Kaif, Raina, Munaf Patel, etc. It is very clear only young players cannot bring the VICTORY to INDIA. You need experience as well.
So, please relax and see how INDIA perfroms in the coming series against WI & SL and then the World Cup.

Attitude? Can your bunny dravid say anything to any one, who sledges the team, on field. He is a gentleman, rught, but unfortunately cricket is no more a gentleman's game, so Mr. Dravid is in the wrong job. He should be there in the hotel Industry, serving food to VVVVIP guests like Ganguly, because there you need gentlemen.

I think something is wrong with you attitude.
When Ganguly speakes out ortakes off his shirt in response to an act similarly performed by someone else it is people like you who say that such act is condemable.
Mr Kaushik look at the figures how many guys were under the experimentation after Gangly Venugopal rao, Raina, RP Singh endless list why could not they perform ultimatley you had to call back Zaheer, Kumble,Laxman, Ganguly .
Do not forget the laurels he has brought to this country how many finals we reached under him.
He is now cautious becoz of old stupids like Raj singh Dungarpur, Bindra who never liked him and you call him a coward?

Ganguly's return
by dharmesh rajguru on Jan 12, 2007 09:23 PM  | Hide replies

I dont understand why all Ganguly fans are very happy about his return in the team. He has been called only becasue the team India was not doing good rather bad. Otherwise he would not have got this chance. It is not his performce that has given him the place in the team but the non performance of others in the team has fetched him a place in the team. He has lot to prove now. No doubt he is a good player, but he has tons of things to do now to retain his place in the team. Please please please forget him being caption again. It is not possible...............

Hi,
How come he is included without performing. Just see the last SA series he was the only batsman to bat confidently in the middle. Anyway I hope you don't understand cricket ,so we excuse you.First understand what is cricket then start commenting .

Mr.Rajguru,
Can you please name 11 players who should be in the team ? Do u think that sachin deserves a place. Just get the statistics of Sachin,Saurav,Rahul during their captaincy tenure and compare. It was only during Ganguly's era that all the young players got to bloom and flourish. Ganguly showed that he knew what to get from whom. He proved it by using Drivid as a batsman cum wicket keeper and dravid was doing well then.He also introduced players like Kaif and Yuvraj who could win you a game you lease expect. He gave us a bowler like Pathan, Zaheer, Balaji. When Dravid and Greg Slipper(Chappal) tried to follow that and tried on Irfan they failed like anything. They also spoiled Sehwag by too much experiment.

RE:Ganguly's return

I think you forget that Ganguly was thrown out of the team for political reasons and not for his performance. He was dropped after the Zimbabwe series in which he had scored a century. One might say that he had scored against a weak opponent. But then what prevented others from doing the same.

His performance in Pakistan, subsequently, was quite decent. Inspite of that, he was dropped again.

With the team in serious trouble and old selection team gone, the new selectors were wise enough to forced him on coach Grep Chappel and captain Rahul Dravid. Sourav didn't disappoint either. He yet again proved his mettle in South Africa by scoring the highest among the Indians. What else does this guy need to prove - no one gifted him those 10,000 runs he has in one dayers, right? And we know what a good captain he is....Rahul is no match atleast in this area.

Bottom-line is: Sourav deserves a place in the team irrespective of the dismal performace of the other India batsmen.

I think you don't follow Cricket sincerely. His performance in South Africa will give you a hint. His average was about 43. That was not too bad, what you think sir? The best part of it is, see the strike rates. It is almost touching 86. That means in test also he batted like one day, just to show that he is capable of making runs in fster pace. Lastly yesterday also he made a Ranji Century...113 out of 112 balls. So it is not other people's poor performance but his good performance put him inside. So brother, forget about regionality but think about India to win and you can't ignore Sourav Ganguly while doing that. and if performance is the matter, why not we talk about Sachin Tendulkar who scores 245 runs in his last 10 innings. Even these days he is playing because of his past record. Totally unacceptable.

No need to probe his ability any more.Ofcourse yes he needs to perform well while Team India's win is concern. He has got 22 Odi centuries, more than 50 half centuries, more than ten thousand runs in his bags. What more... He should play well and India get win...that's all

u can never understand with this frame of mind. be nutral and then think, Ganguly is back, because that was the worst decision which took him out of the squad, and that caused India to loose in three series in streak... And nevr forget, this man is far better caption than Dravid, and can lead all four corners of the game

hi dharmesh i think u realise the problem. a player get chance when other perform worse. so ganguly has just got that opportunity and he has proved some point. so what is your problem with ganguly fans if they are very happy with their idole? you should atleast use your common sense.

Dear Dharmesh,
Did you ever play Cricket? I am not sure. What performance you are talking about? He became the highest scorer (214) among all your so-called best batsmen. It seems that you become un-happy of sourav's chance to make in the team.My humble suggestion "DO NOT BE BIASED".

Mr. Dharmesh Rajguru, Its because of you that I feel ashamed to have born in such a country like India. If Ganguly would have born in Australia, he would have been a regular member in the team. SHAMELESS INDIANS like you spoil the team. Dravid? who is he? Captain? Thats the joke of the 21st century. Why don,t you just stop your stupidest comments and concentrate in your own work? Ganguly is there not because of his performance? Then who is the highest run getter for India in the SA series? Is it you? or your guru Dravid? or Tendulkar? JUST SHUT YOUR MOUTH ..

you jokers dont understand cricket at all. you all are anti-bengali. you are eager to give non performers like dravid, sachin, sehwag, pathan chance after chance. but when it comes to ganguly, you behave as if the team management is doing him a favour by including him in the team.
