Mr. Sheik,

Don't you think he (pathan) is over guided by all including Wasim Akram. Let him to bowl according to his capacity as he bowled during first season.

There is no place for NON PERFORMERS, I agree but the
rule should be applied to one and all. Why only Irfan.

in my views he is an asset for our (INDIAN) team.
he is a good allrounder. all players suffer from a
bad patch. we hv seen sachin, sourav now dravid & shewag. so give him the time. surely he will bounce back with a big bang. (IN INDIA) after kapil i just seen a fast bowler who can bat is capable of taking wickets. i will not talk about m.prabhakar. i will just compare him with KAPIL. in one word i think he is GREAT.... LOVE HIM

Every player see ups & down and it is his turn, but I do belive Pathan is one of the most talented blower India ever have. If he is sent back from the midway of SA tour then it is he who have to take the challange to prove the other they were very much worng. I would love to see he concentret on his bolwing and nothing elas at this time.

What is happening with Pathan is pure politics. This is a just dirty trick by vengsarkar. Im sure he is the worst selectors the India has ever seen. Once turning wickets like in India he is not selecting Kumble to play. On bouncy wickets like south Africa he is selecting Kumble to bowl. Its irony. Im just wondering is mentally fit or not? This is just disgusting. What basis vegsarkar is making the selections? Im sure at his house his wife wont even allow him to select fish from market. Shame on you vengsarkar.

Pathan would have been the gifted replacement for shewag who has failed miserably throughout the series. Look at the irony, a junk player is still playing for India in the third test. Pathan not only bowl he also know how to bat.

Pathan dont worry. Our sincere best wishes are always with you. You are the star of the coming days. Pathan you are indias Jayasurya. Cheer up.

additional bowling coach required
by hemant on Jan 03, 2007 09:56 PM

apart from greg we do require additional bowling coach at the earliest because technical flaws of our bowlers can be rectified with the help of specialist bowler only.

Pathan and Confidence !
by Raj on Jan 03, 2007 09:34 PM

Pathan's Coach may be right when he analyzed his action. But he is not, when he says Team Management should have retained him in SA.
A player lackig in confidence and direction needs to play Cricket at some competitive level. Carrying drinks in SA is hardly going to do him any favor.
So it was the right decision to send him home.
The reason for the decline of Pathan, sehwag and like is not hard to guess. It is the obnoxious amount of hype after a few good performances and all those endorsements and the filthy money.
A suggestion: The Board should bring all the Players under contract and collect all the money from endorsements. They should create some kind of a fund and a part of the spoils should be distributed according to performances after each season while awarding new contracts. A major chunk of the fund should be invested well and be handed over to players, when they retire. No individual contracts should be allowed even to the senior players.
This way, players will have a reason to perform and the youngesters will not be blinded by money and fame.
I think this needs serious consideration!
Raj
