Its very bad to send him back...he is a Superb allrounder and he is the one among the best player for world cup...i m sure without him there is no chance to win the world cup even its very difficult to clear the 1st round. He is one who can change the match...

Pathan

Before pushing Pathan into more matches, wonder why no body has thought of providing him help with his action or run up or what ever. We dont have to look far for this. Mr.Lillee is the best man suited for the job. The BCCI or the Baroda cricket association can approach MRF foundation & send him there.
Continuing to play in the same fashion is not going to help him.

Pathan and his lovers
by yasho on Jan 03, 2007 09:41 AM

Where are they, I dont see, hear or read them.
As an sportsman My opinion about Pathans bad form is "Too many Advices, Too many analysis and and too many coaching. Notice use of many not much with coaching."
My advice to him is "do not listen to no one, do not ask any advice from any one, go bowl the way you want to bowl."
I have never been a Pathan worshipper, admired him for what he did for the team but never believed him to be the answer to our prayer for an all rounder. He is not an all rounder he is a good bowler. May be 5 years or more down the road he will become an allrounder, if he can bowl in this period

Whats the Problem

Dear Author of Article,

Leave pathan Alone for a while. Let him make a comeback. Dont keep nagging him with your "expert" comments.

Pathan's morale
by Shyam on Jan 03, 2007 08:23 AM

It is obvious that his morale dips to a new low every time he plays.

But this is where he should remember that he is no longer a schoolboy, but an adult who should find his own way out of his problems.

Let his figures do the talking. Let those figures show that he deserves more money than what he gets now.

He is a genuine all-rounder who can make a mark on the Indian game. We have been lacking one since Kapil Dev.

Let us pray and hope that he will mature and find a way out of his own problems.

Pathan,s form
by Tarun Aerry on Jan 03, 2007 07:48 AM

I think too much was done to turn a good bowler to be a batsman that did the damage. No attention was given to his bowling that was his strength. Is something fishy there to destroy indian team completely in each field whether it is batting or bowling before the world cup or this is an example to poor management at its best.

Pathan's outing
by K. Mallick on Jan 03, 2007 06:42 AM

Dear Mr. Harish Kotian,
Before writing a line on Irfan, imagine the psychological trauma he has after being sent back from S. Africa. He is playing under great tension. Instead of being sympathetic to a great find, please do not write some 40 overs in the 2nd innings and the match against Tamilnadu will decide his fate. That is harsh, Mr. Harish. Irfan is a find in decades. The team management experimented on him too much, batting at every slot, a pinch hitter etc. etc., and now he is dumped. That is very unfair. Media has a role to give confidence in a player. Please try to do that.
Happy New Year. K. Mallick, Hyderabad

Pathan !
by saanthosh@rediffmail.com on Jan 03, 2007 01:51 AM

The biggest mistake was recalling him back half way the tournament. i just can't understand why we have such an unprofessional management structure. It sure hasn't done much to his confidence, not to mention the mental stress and the rest of it..

He sure is one of the rarest find in Indian Cricket, i would rather be happy seeing an off color Pathan in the Indian team than a 'tenduklar', with all due respect to the little genius,, its time he hung his bat up..
