India's tour of South Africe,3rd test day 4
by Dr.Srijit Das on Jan 05, 2007 09:30 PM

What is this fuss about? Why does a team take more than 5 minutes to send a batsman to the field? Is Ganguly the passenger who can always be pushed to this slot. Why nobody padded up? Why didn't the team management plan, whom to send? The way the team has been treating Ganguly is pathetic.Even in dire situation, he saved the team and his knock helped India reach a respectable total.Poor fellows, they even feel afraid to face South African pace attack and this is the same coach who had labeled Ganguly earlier as the one who used to fear pace attack on foreign soil. Now the people can see what is reality.Ganguly is great fighter and his contribution to the team is praiseworthy and not dependent on Greg's views.

by Sachin on Jan 03, 2007 01:14 PM

All the 7 top order batsmen in this match can claim to be specialist openers either in tests or onedayers at some point of time in their careers. Karthik is the latest to join the other 6.

Best Position In all deciders
by JBond on Jan 03, 2007 11:08 AM

India are in the best position to win the series since their first day position in Pakistan in 2003.
Hopefully this wont be a repeat of the test which they lost after a Pathan Hatrick...All the best guys..

80 to 100 runs short
by MSR on Jan 03, 2007 10:45 AM

I felt India were 80 to 100 runs short on this day one pitch if they wanted to win this match and the series.

Why Sehwag still there
by Amit on Jan 03, 2007 09:14 AM

Its nice to see after such a long time we had good opening partnership. I don't understand why Sehwag is still in the team.Anyways its good time for the Master Blaster to score, earlier he had to face the new ball as wickets tumbled quickly and he didn't had the technique to face it, but now he shud score the bowlers are tired the ball is old a perfect scenario for the Master Blaster to fire and he will fire
Lets c

Openers put India on firm ground
by Dr. U. K. Palte on Jan 03, 2007 08:41 AM

Well done "Krishnakumar Dinesh Karthik".

A truly remarkable and wonderful inning by a doughty fighter. Hopefully he will have to prove an exception to the rule of "USE THEM and LOSE THEM". The recent list of openers includes AAKASH CHOPARA, PARTHIV PATEL, GAUTAM GAMBHIR among others.

By the way Dinesh Karthik please find out who in BCCI or team selection committee does Sehwag know.

Best wishes Dinesh Karthick, well played and hopefully you will be anointed as a permanent opener now for Indian Pitches as well.

play like don bradman sachin, viren, saurabh all of u please
by Pravinkumar on Jan 03, 2007 07:20 AM

90 overs game over and just 254 runs at the cost of 3 wickets is slightly slow. Rahul played nice at start but when he played defensive he got out hence once again request all indian legends like sachin, viren & saurabh to remember don bradman his foot work & style to hit ball for 4/6 and smash the bowling and get maximum runs as early as each individual can on this batting pitch. Score fast now. England got out for just 291 in 102 overs just now because of very slow batting. We learn from them
