It would b a gr8 move if Indian Selection committee takes the courage to dump Shewag and dare to select Gautam Ghambir instead.Ghambir has already performed well once...and even if he fails in the match will it really matter as Shewag is not bothering the scorers much...Shewag is a great player in his class but why not give Ghambir a chance too.But its most likely that Rahul would open with Jaffer and Shewag will come down the order...Shewag's lean patch can be over in an over...thats the best part of this Butcher of cricket ball from Delhi. Munaf is an obvious choice in place for VRV but wickets along with runs counts...so the contributions from VRV from his bat is hard to neglect in the very first test which led to a historic win for all of us.VRV has an extra edge for his strong throwing and quick pick ups.So its a tough call i guess. Kartik has to come in if Dhoni is unfit for the test...but he too seems to be a good prospect so it should not matter much.
I still wonder why Colnel did not send Sehwag and Jafar alongwith Pathan.Its absolutely impossible to understand the strategy involved as atleast in other countries if somebody does not perform 2/3 times his place is gone till he proves himself again.I feel BCCI should take firm stand on this issue and make it a pointer to the team that they are not our son in laws and believe me India can still win without these embarassing chaps.Still I have full faith in Vengsarkar , he can turn the team around for good as he is a thinking boss not sitting on his back side like other board members as all of them rest on their back sides and are only can be seen while making comments on news channels or hovering around Sharad pawar ,really buttershap chapies.Infact our board should consist of only old experienced players not match watchers .
Dhoni , Sehwag and Tendularkar should be shown way out of the team. The performance has been dismal.
Tendulkar has once again shown that he is fit for retirement and nothing else.
The sooner we understand this the bring new real talent and make it clear to the Boys that the place in team is purely performance based and not regional based. We have done enough harm to Indain cricket by promoting non performers.
Except for Dhoni's replacement due to injury the other changes should have been effected after the first test without rubbishing us about not changing a (struggling) successful XI.History has it that for India to win a test or series, Dravid has to be among runs and not,as anybody who is somebody or his brother in law may protest,Sachin 'failing when dearly needed for the country' Tendulkar.The selectors should not go by history if the country is to achieve laurels like Australa.
