India must dump Sehwag
by Mohamed Soeb on Jan 08, 2007 09:33 AM

India must drop Sachin as well as Sehwag. They are not performing since long and still they are in. If this is the case then why was Pathan dropped from the team. There is some politics going on in the team for sure.

Oh Yeah!by all means along with that also pl consider dropping from the Captain's mantle Rahul and replace him by Ganguly for Boldness, Motivation, Determination and infusing a kind of ruthlessness in the Dropping Shoulders of the playing 11 just like the Aussies.

India must dump Sehwag

After todays miserable performance, though Im a big time fan of Sachin for the past 16 years (can never think of dropping Sachin in my dreamL), I want him to be dropped from the test squad for at least one match and the reason should be the pathetic performance in 2nd innings . Its the third test we are in bad position due to some senseless batting by two great players India ever produced (Sachin & Dravid.) . Sehwag also must sit outside an analyze the mistakes that hes doing time and again.

Sehwag...
by S Daniel on Jan 04, 2007 10:19 PM

Simple and straight... Tendulkar's out-of-form and Viru's have been tolerated for too long. They should be asked to play more domestic cricket and prove themselves well...

Why is Sehwag still in the side?
by Vivek on Jan 03, 2007 12:24 PM

A bureaucratic and a bigoted approach is not a new thing the Indian selection committee has indulged in and regardless of whether Sehwag performs in this test or not, my view is that he should've been sent home to work on his batting.
I haven't seen any other player in any team being given so many chances.
Even Steve Waugh who was the captain of the Australian team was thrown out of the one day side following his string of poor performances.
Our selectors and the cricketing council are putting professionalism on the back burner by indulging in such a partisan approach to selecting people in the team.
I'm sure Mr. Irfan Pathan knows about Sehwag's abysmal performance and he must also be wondering why he's being singled out of the team.
While in the third test Sehwag may perform well and you may say that he's proved us all wrong. But do not forget that this pitch is a batsmen's paradise, and I'd say that whoever would've replaced Sehwag (maybe Gambhir) would've also done as well (if not better) than Sehwag in this match.

Well Done Sehwag
by jimbly on Jan 02, 2007 05:38 PM

Well done Veeru. Seems quite a few of the Great people realize that Sehwag is one guy who has fired when it really matters for India. And they desperately want Sehwag out of this team.

But Rahul has wisely included him.

I agree with all the comments on this time as quoted by allan

Our seniors are the reason for our loss after bowlers struggled so much in the tests

dump sehwag
by abhishek on Jan 02, 2007 12:51 PM

Definately India should now think on other resources than sehwag..with his performance over last year..i think he is not eligible to retain his place in team..anyways we are losing we should give chance to gambhir or robin utthappa for test..

Ganguly should be given a chance in one-day's...

Dumping Sehwag
by Srinivas Bharadwaj on Jan 01, 2007 11:45 PM

We have given Wasim Jaffer a lot of chances this
season. Sehwag needs to be given another chance,
and that would have to be in the middle-order.
India must look to a revamped order, with Dhoni
or Kaarthik opening with Gambhir and Sehwag given
a try at No. 6. This should be Sehwag's spot for
the World Cup as well to help slog out the slog
overs when the bowlers are bowling at the legs.
Dravid too needs to be put on
notice and sent down the order, with Ganguly coming
out at No 7. Laxman should seal the No. 3 spot.
With Kallis back and the SA middle-order getting
back its groove, and its long lower-middle order
continuing to show strength, with the wicket dry,
this maybe a complex test for India. But more so
for the bowling as well. India will miss Pathan.

Chappell is clearly not working for India. Donald,
you should also advice Chappell. India needs to turn
to Tendulkar for Captaincy.
