Three steps forward
He was the highest run-scorer in his first World Cup. In his second, he took on the mantle of keeping wickets as well. Rahul Dravid takes his third shot at the big one as captain. He spoke to Sunandan Lele ahead of the team%u2019s departure

Dear Suman Bhatt, everybody knows Dravid is a great player, but not a great captain-he is an average captain.Sourav Ganguly is much a better captain than Dravid, and I think one of the greatest captains India has ever had.

Hello Kumar Brothers from West Bengal .....

JUST KEEP SACHIN OUT OF IT .... HE IS SMIPLY GREAT AND EVEN SIR DON SAID IT.

He never had any partners to keep wickets. He played most of the time single handed.

AS FOR GANGULY HE IS A GOOD PLAYER. BUT WHEN AS A CAPTAIN HE THOUGHT HIMSELF AS KING. AND IT WAS NECESSARY TO BLOW HIS MIND .... USKO DROP KAR USSE USKI AUKAD DIKHA DI.

I Agree. Ganguly does not have much of a batting talent. He was an agressive captain but also a political captain. Because of him Kumble and VVS did not play in the last worldcup which led to our WC last time.

dear suman PLS., DON'T CRACK JOKES!!!
tell about KAPIL DEV SAB or ganguly, but not about sachin,dravid,kumble....etc.,
u know, kapil hadn't perform all the times when he plays for india. he even didn't perform well like Imran, Hadlee, Botham and Late Marshal in bowling department. out of 100% of his cricket matches he shown his caliber for just40%. but the entire 40% was when "india was in a desperate to winning possition". even Imran, Hadlee, Botham, Gavaskar,Richards, Border, Gower, Clive Lloyed,Crow brothers, Miandad....etc they didn't perform like kapil. But all these greats, they shown their consistency when they were playing. but kapil performed when india need to winning possitions. This is THE BIG VARIATION BETWEEN LEZENDS AND KING of LEZENDS (KAPIL).
about ganguly, i can say that he is the best fighter, performer, caliber, aggressive player after kapil dev.
dear suman pls trust my words, if u still in confusion go to the cricinfo and see all records about kapil and ganguly.
compare with sachin and to dravid also. these two guys are soo eagar to make centuries against u.a.e., canada, bermuda, scottland, hongkong, east africa, bangladesh, chile, brazil, latin america, russia, srinagar elevens, MP's eleven, workers eleven, rickshaw elevens ...etc.,
but we neet centuries when india is playing do or die matches.
that's why kapil made 175*
ganguly made century against kenya in WC2003 semi finals. that time india were13/3.
ganguly made 120 runs against pak when india was playing finals in bangladesh golden jubilee match against pakistan. india made history by chasing 315runs first time in cricket history!

like that we need performances gutsy guys like kapil and ganguly

I realy agree with you Praveen, Those blind human worshiping people do not understand the human personality and thier capabilties. As leadership capabilty is considered Dravid and Sachin don't have that skills at all. They are good players against only poor and mild international teams, whenever there is presure and our great wall's job is only to play safe job, he doesn't carry winning instinct. What is use in one day, just by retaining wicket and wasting the balls, ultimately rushing towards loose, but!!!!1 slowely!!!!!!....
For kind information who doesn't have vision and confidense of winning, he cannot lead the team towards in right path, by making such statements dravid already made India to loose as morally, How idiots indian selectors are? who are uncapable to find good captain.... we already lost.... lets have hopes only on Ganguly's inclusion who drives team ( as a non capt.) towards goal & vision and hence MISSION!

i agree with ava and karthik. If the captain of the team informs in a press conference that he doesnt think he would win, or rather he feels someone else can win...he shouldnt be playing at all. That said, i believe there is a lot more to the statement. It could be a ploy to restore some ego to the aussie team so that they dont come to the world cup all hungry stalking like starved animals. Mind games???

I agree with Sriram Balu's last part of his comment, Mind Games!!! I mean cricket is not all but having 11 players perform individually, there is a place for strategy to pull up a team win. I don't think Dravid reinforced the Aussie's ego but infact has increased the mounting pressure on them after losing to England n NZ. Aussies r really hurt with injuries to Brett Lee n Andrew Symonds. I am
glad that Dravid issued the statement in a way he rubbed off some pressure from the teams shoulder so they could concentrate more in performing during the World cup rather than worrying about if some bunch of idiots go and paint the cricketers house black or stone their houses.

u are really cracked! u sing Dravid bhajans (and compose them)whenever and wherever u can.
ur arguments which r always anti-Ganguly(surprisingly that has been excluded here)are baseless as usual.
