Richard
by shah khan on Mar 08, 2007 08:59 AM

When I lived in NZ, I met Richard who lives in CHCH.

NZ is a small country so u can met cricketers easliy but rugby players are more popular.
He is over 6'0 but very nice. for our cricket club he would come once a month to give tips and coach.

None will break his record, he got 431 wickets in 86 matches. He had great success against big team. NZ was not really a good team but Richard made a winning team.

But he himself said that Imran Khan was the better allrounder because he was more than a cricketers.

Kapil Was the greatest of the 4 all rounders
by ram on Mar 07, 2007 01:09 PM  | Hide replies

Botham,Imran,Hadlee & Kapil- all of them were great BUT THE GREATEST is Kapil Dev simply because of all the disadvantages he encountered both as bowler and batsman in our country.

India was one of the weakest teams, till the World Cup in '83 and Kapil and his devils turned it around !! Though he might have played more tests to get to the world record, the fact is on the Indian wkts. it was DIFFICULT TASK ALL THE SAME!!!He had no support at the other end unlike the other 3.Remember Sarfaraz,Akram,Bob Willis etc.Hadleee had it easy on the Aus/NZ pitches.Pls. check on Kapil's bowling avgs. in pitches of Aus/NZ/WI they are much better...

What are they doing now?
by JM on Feb 28, 2007 10:55 PM

I dont see them actively involved in ICC activities such as match referees or arbitrators or in any committee. Why? And how do they keep involved in cricket now apart from the occassional interview?

The two great contemporaries
by rajendra agrawal on Feb 28, 2007 02:40 PM

Even after hanging their boots more than a decade ago, they maintain excellent physique!
I think only our Colonel Vengy can match them, considering the time span !!

Sir Hadlee & Kapil
by rajendra agrawal on Feb 28, 2007 02:34 PM

Thanks a lot to Lady Dianne for this great photograph.
Really touching one, once you think that the Lady herself has clicked it.
The expressions of Sir Richard & Kapil speaks volumes - the former's comfort level with Kapil and the latter's reverence towards him and the Lady.
Impeccable manners worth emulating by the younger cricketers.
