Flintoff the great
by a sekhar on Feb 13, 2007 10:26 AM

I'm also one among the many who critisized the coach Duncun Fletcher for the poor show by England in Australia as well as for the performances after the last Ashes victory. But there seems to be good understanding between coach & captain, which solves many problems. No doubt England has got a great sportsman in Flintoff. They should strengthen the opening 1-4 positions and also a batsman cum wicket keeper.Fast bowlers like Harmison,Anderson,Hoggard,Mahmood plus spinners Giles,Darlyample,Monty along with all rounders like Flintoff,Collingwood,Peterson will make England a formidable team standing a chance to win WC.Ian Bell seems to have concreted his place. All the best England for the World Cup.

The coach
by Anshuman Mishra on Feb 12, 2007 10:01 PM

Giving all credit to the coach and blaming themselves for putting their coach underfire demonstrate the character of the English team.

They accepted the reality and must have dne some self-introspection to come out victorious with resilience.

Can our Team India ever emmulate this example?

Great win

After being thrashed by aussies in the ashes series, England has something to take back home. To defeat australia twice in a tri-series final in their back yard without losing a match is by far the greatest achievement by any English Team. Hats off to you Engalnd. They played as a team in the last 4 matches and were able to achieve this rare feat. Man of the series award to Ponting seem to a consolation for the defeat. My man of the series is Paul Collingwood. He has played when the situation demanded and he is turning into a useful batting all-rounder for his team nowadays. It seems Australians can never accept defeat in their back yard and it was evident from the way, Channel Nine's commentatory team was predicting an australian victory even when they were in dire straits. To be frank the commentators were too much biased for the Australian Team whilst every one knew that australia would lose the match when they were reduced to 5 wickets in the first 15 overs itself. This win by England will give lot of confidence to the other teams facing Australia.

Beating Australia twice in the finals...oooff...that is something no team has acheived in the recent years...hats off to England...but unfortunately Australians are very strong mentally and they would have already geared up again and getting ready to win the golden lady thrice in a row...best of luck to all teams...p7ww4

Congrats to Flintoff and his team

India should have learnt from England. At one stage everybody thinks that Aussie and Kiwis only will enter the finals. But suddenly everything turns in favour of England. Main turning point is Aussies beaten by England in the round match. Full credit should go to Flintoff, because he only keeping faith on his team even they lost first 5 of the six matches they played.
