No Case
by Kalyan L on Feb 08, 2007 04:26 PM  | Hide replies

We Indians are good at blowing everything out of proportion. The police or BCCI should have never leaked this until they have the evidence to establish that Kochar is an active bookie and if there was any kind of match fixing, not just because Samuels called him. Before you point fingers can you establish that the call wasnt just a casual one?
Anyways, what kind of information would he have passed in the game of cricket that would hamper their winning chances? And Kochar is not there playing on the field. Who is the contact then, in the Indian side to pass the valuable information that he bought? I just dont see a case. Dont make it an issue.....and guys who are already jumping at the Indian team for winning.....cool down!

All Book maker use this information for their batting. Like who will open?, Who will be 1st bowling replacement? It is called fancy batting. It seems funny but in this world we have enough funny people to bat on all these funda.

MATCH FIXING - REAL
by Sanjay Gupta on Feb 08, 2007 01:43 PM

We all know that match fixing exists. It is a reality. The ICC and BCCI have closed their eyes on this issue and there is no clear commitment from thier side to solve this problem.Just imagine you have wasted your entire day watching a one day match only to realise the next day that the match was fixed.

No wonder our cricket team doesnt have any major victories to talk about. We won the world cup in 1984 and after that Australia has won it four times, Pakistan & Sri Lanka once. In the last world cup India reached the finals only to find our side being completely routed by the Australians. BCCI is the richest body in the World but I am sure we want a rich team hungry for success both home and abroad and not one which thinks themselves great after a win against West Indies, Kenya or Zimbabwe

Will World Cup matches be fixed ??????
by ava desh on Feb 08, 2007 01:42 PM  | Hide replies

Hi guys, WC is coming up .. what do you think ?
I think Pak, WI, Zim, Bangladesh must be doing match fixing even now. I know they are poor teams but now a days run rate is also one of the major factors in many series. So these poor teams match fixing can also happen. But AUS is going to Win WC anyway . I think BCCI should spend some money to buy some Aussy players. any comments ??

First of all I wud reccommend you to attend a moral science class.Secondly people like you should be kicked out of India. Now coming back to Sachin episode let me inform you that he is one of the most selfish cricketers India has ever produced ,Remembe his innings of 196 (When Rahul Dravid declared), if you want I can come up with hundred such instances

Tell me the instances when Sachin made centuries against Australia in ODIs ,do a google search, all the time u will find it was out of Australia and none of the below mentioned three bowlers were there
Mcgrath,Gilispe and Lee.Sachin is good only against week bowlers ,we remember him for playing against Olonga

Because cricket bible WISDEN rates Tendulkar as the 2nd greatest ever both in Test matches and ODi matches. Also because Sir Donald Bradman was fond of Tendulkar more than any other player in history. Got it ?

What to believe.
by Ajay Dev Singh on Feb 08, 2007 01:20 PM  | Hide replies

Do we believe the manner in which our demi-gods won this series? Nowhere in world the captain manipulates the laid pitches, but in sub continent where bunch of jokers has almost over 2 lacs of runs on pitches where balls are knee high. That's why from last 11 years no sub-continent team won any world cup. It's better that we should have get our basics correct, learn how to perform. For Australians Andrw Symonds matter, but look at their reserve bench. Here any cricketer inflict injury, when some shoot or promos activity lined up. The mental strength of Team India is like mushroom, only edible in winters. 45,000 runs were shared by Trio Sachin, Ganguly & Dravid. Australians, South Africans & New zealand team combined total is just over 55,000 runs. But look at their mental strength. Will India can be part of epic 443 chase victory. I believe never with this kind of setup.

The World Cup winning is as follows
1975 West Indies (Australia)
1979 West Indies (England)
1983 India (West Indies)
1987 Australia (England)
1992 Pakistan (England)
1996 Sri Lanka (Australia)
1999 Australia (Pakistan)
2003 Australia (India)
Also within the last 11 yea that is from 1997 both the runner up were from Sub Continents.
Australia is one strong contender and they have always been superior compared to any other nations currently. Of late they have lost only countable number of matches and won plenty. If we need to be even in their standards we need to do a lot of work mentally and physically.
Apart from Winning let us now talk about who is going to go to the finals which is more likely a debate than who is going to win. unless a miracle happens it will be australia only

Really? U better know that it was always difficult to win by a visiting team in a hosting country. U take any se of teams. Check the records. Don't come to stupid conclusions. And i have heard many times in recent series when the captians of the WI and SA teams asking for quick pitches. Why people refer other fellow beings as "jokers" "fools" etc. After all those guys are doing their job. BTW, how good are u at ur job?

hey you idiot...just for your info, in the last 4 world cups, one team in the final has always been a syb continent team...and for your info, if Samuels giving team info is match fixing, then even aussies like Mark waugh and shane warne were part of match fixers gang...that is if we go by your argument. And if Sub continet teams do badly abroad, how many teams from outside sub continet come here and enjoy the condition..barring SA and AUS once each, no team has ever won a seeries in the last 30 years!isn't that an inability of these teams to counter quality spin.

Fist go learn cricket and then only start commenting.BTW cricket would be better off without suppot from nincomkoops like you.

Great, then their is a combine team from sub-continent. Talk abt. Dravid & Ganguly, who always uproot the green top, go to nagpur test, when Ganguly offered head of dravid. Mohali was supposed to be the fastest, but our dancing stars make merry out there. 3 jokers are in mid 30's,if go by conviction, India can host 2011 world cup. Do you really want them to pad up & play for India. Damien Martyn & Nathan Astle retired b'caz they lack motivation & hunger for runs. These rangroots took ages to hang their boots.

Sumuels issue
by P Ravi Krishnan on Feb 08, 2007 01:11 PM

It is same old story like that of Late Hansie Cronje, Azharuddin etc. etc..it is the responsibility of the player to protect himself and must avoid answering to anonymous calls. answering to a single anonymous call will snowball into controversy. ICC must formulate guidlines for every players.

Good Comments my friend. I too agree with your views. Our cricketers don't have the zeal to fight or to win. They r playing just for money. And if some one hits a century... his berth in private commercials is confirmed with some Mind Boggling figures.

There is only one way to stop these things. All indians should vote that if and only IF INDIA WINS the world cup, we shall accept the commercials or else... The people must ban buying any product endorsed by a CRICKETER.

so stop to critisig from outside and give them big hand for upcoming success

I agree tha we should not b emotional abt cricketers. but nevertheless, we should not generalize that all/most of the cricketers are involved in these kind of things. Just like we all are, there are bad people and also good people in cricket. so, do not club them entirely. punish if we know that a particular guy is involved. Stringent guidelines should be in place to stop these incidents.
