Well Mr Speed its not surpising at all that you have left the greats from pakistan many of them lik eInzi , Wasaim etc.

I guess you need to have money making cricket board to be in you list, how about adding Ajit Agarkar to your list will be good for you in the future

Golden Era? Eh...

Golden Era of Cricket Mr. Speed? Do you say this because YOU were the administrator of ICC for most of the time during this period?
So much of racism and ill-will was in view during this era. Match Fixing, Ball-Tampering, Racism and name any malaise; you have seen it.
The mentioned names are great players no doubt, but do all of them merit places in the All-Time Greats?
Except Warne, I am afraid none of them. All the batters of present era are perhaps fitter and faster. But on uncovered, fast pitches of the past without helmets; make a guess how many could have survived.
I can't subscribe to the view that Sachin, Ponting and the likes merit place in the all time greats. Agreed it is not fair to compare Players of different era. But all said and done for me, Gavaskar, Richards, Chappelle and Miandad etc were better allround batters than the present day flat track bullies.
Best example of this is: Look at the matches where the pitch was doing even a little bit more off the pitch and in the air; and what you see is the match folds up in 2 - 3 days with the team that bats for 3 whole sessions wins.
It is preposterous to label this as the Golden Era.
I think the 70s and 80s when the ball and bat were evenly matched was the Golden Era.

Could not agree with you more but I think - golden era, he means in the money sense. Especially during the match fixing scandal (not that it is still not going on) where ICC and all the cricketers made merry (or gold literally) at the expense of foolish spectators (including me).

I can't understand why this message from Govind should be reported for abuse. He analysis is 100% correct. Current generation flat track, covered pitches batsmen would definitely wet their pants if they are to face westindies attack of the 80s. without helmet would endup in hospital. Even if there is a little on the track for bowlers, they start saying the ball is not coming onto the bat, sub standard pitch etc. If the ball is coming onto bat sab log bat karenge...ha..ha..
